Newcastle are going to end up with Nuno taking the second job in a matter of months that everyone knows he was about 4th choice for!
They could do worse. His focus on defensive stability could help That said - they already play with a back three/five. It’s just whether he can drill them any better He is effectively a “chequebook” manager anyway. Access to players at wolves that another wolves manager would never have dreamed of due that dodgy Mendes link
He was 20/21 last night when I posted it. Not that bookies are right with this sort of thing til the very last minute
That's utterly bizarre. I mean, don't get me wrong, it would be hilarious, but I wonder what brought that on.
All it takes with manager markets (same as player transfer markets) is a small amount of money being placed. There are so many people who would be ITK about stuff like that bookies are terrified of getting burnt
Odds according to SkyBet at 11am on November 8. List from https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sp...lla-manager-terry-gerrard-hasenhuttl-22094484 Steve Gerrard 5/4 Roberto Martinez 5/1 John Terry 7/1 Kasper Hjulmand 7/1 Paulo Fonseca 8/1 Frank Lampard 12/1 Graham Potter 12/1 Ralph Hassenhuttl 14/1 Lucien Favre 20/1 Nuno Espirito Santo 20/1 Andre Villas-Boas 25/1 Ronald Koeman 25/1 Thomas Frank 33/1
Villa fans really are thick. I was postulating how they'd be better off trying for Thomas Frank rather than Ralph or Potter, as he'd be more likely to see it as a step up, and therefore would potentially be easier to move. They apparently think this is ridiculous because why would you take someone who has lost four in a row, when you've just sacked someone who has lost five in a row. Applying context is clearly a lost art, right?
Well I could see why they wouldn’t think Frank isn’t a particularly great manager given his PL record. I wouldn’t be too thrilled if he was next Saints manager and Villa have bigger ambition than us
He's done brilliantly with Brentford, and they love him there. He might not be exactly the right choice, but it's the rationale in play that makes me laugh.
