Seems like Howe will be here today then? I think once they get to this stage it's just make the offer and it's done. All the work was done on the background just waiting to press go. Is that correct?
I dont care. Theyre annoying me, theres zero communication and its been weeks, after all this its someone who was interviewed by Ashley and theyre talking about it being done Next week. If its not done in a few hours im perplexed
I think so. Reading the spin. press are now saying Howe was actually the one with the best plan going forward but Emery got the job offer due to his cv.
I'm ****ing astonished they've taken this long to do anything now like, and it was me that was preaching it would take a few weeks a few weeks ago. I honestly think they came in and thought Bruce will se us through till Jan, that didn't work so it was sack him, lets see if we can get Rafa. Got turned down then hoped Jones could see us through till Jan, then hope Rafa had left and get him, that hasn't worked so they've gone for Howe. Watch Rafa get sacked in the next 6-8 weeks
I'm not it takes a few weeks at least for discussions and they had it all done and went on emery... Nobody knew and they were moaning saying why aren't they doing anything.. Well they were. Now they're sorting what was option 2.
I have read in a few places that Howe really impressed in the interview and you know, actually wanted the ****ing job. For me they are too busy chasing clout, obsessed with poaching a big name with their cash. Not gonna happen when we are 19th, thats why they need a DOF and Stavelely should be far away from the football. Hire a ****ing coach and lets start the season, we are 10 game behind
I liked Emry but whoever at the club leaked the info to the press probably ****ed the deal. That person should be fired
Mate, when I interview candidates for jobs, once I start and once one comes across well, that I get a good feel for, I hire them that day. I don't **** about waiting to see who the agencies are possibly going to send next week or the week after in the hope of finding someone better.
Well they'll have learned a lesson, but the guy obviously changed his mind anyway and threw nufc under the bus. Howe will do! who knows he might be capable of great things with money.. The best managers all have had plenty money.
I just keep telling meself, he was the next big english hope as far as managers were concerned before that disaster season at Bournemouth. We need a DOF in above him though.
Yeah, it's been pretty comical for all the "look at the long term" stuff spouted. Rafa's going nowhere, Moshiri will stick with him and he's got a lot of big players missing at the moment, plus his teams always finish stronger so the soonest he'd be gone is May. I'm pretty gobsmacked that in a world of managers, Eddie Howe was the best we (they) could get. He wasn't high up my list when Ashley was here, let alone when we have Saudi backing and we're being linked to Coutinho, Hazard, Sule. When they talk to Fonseca and think "hmm, he's good, but we can do better" I don't then expect Howe to be the "better". I messed about on Google searching for things like "best manager out of work" - Howe's not in those lists. Palace didn't want him. There was an issue with Celtic as well. He wasn't the guy Spurs thought could replace Nuno. He was, as far as I can tell, a target for Norwich - which makes sense. We need an influx of good players in January, but we're tempting them in with Eddie Howe? As a player, is that what you're aspiring to, to work for Eddie? He's not tactically good either. He's FA schooled, for one, which is a HUGE red flag for me. His defences have been described numerous times as "chaotic". He prefers 4-4-2, which I ****ing ABHOR because it leaves you light in central midfield (as usual) and we do not have the players for that formation anyway. Then there's our beloved goldfish. Fans aren't pining for Howe, they're pining for an end to what has been a debacle of a hiring process. Howe will get, what, 3 games? 6? Before fans start turning on him? He isn't coming with any sense of glamour, mystique or ambition. He's coming as 6th choice, at best, a backup plan and is fundamentally a bloke from the South who's won absolutely **** all, got homesick when at Burnley and only achieved relative "success" at one small club. Sorry guys I know we're supposed to look on the bright side, but this to me looks like a ****ing terrible appointment and all but seals relegation barring some kind of January transfer miracle.
The process is different.. If emery didn't change his mind it's a great job.. Now option 2 will be here by the weekend anyway, so who cares?
I'm very disappointed at the lack of flightradar updates I have to admit....you've let things slip massively since this ****ing takeover got over the line !! Sort your **** out mate will ya?
