Yes, though I don't want to think about it. I just can't see how someone who's been living off a group of talent like Belgium have for the past, what, 5 years is the right guy to drop into 19th and shore up the defence or build a club.

I did vote the guy, but I was being negative at the time. For a change.

Ah, if you put it like that, then I'm ok with it. I can't find the quote, but didn't he say he would be assistant manager whatever happens? Or is that paraphrasing?

I mean, you can't have too many coaches, I suppose. And he must be reasonably good, at something?

They're out of time, mate, brace yourself for Howe. Whatever the opposite of "playing a blinder" is, that's what happened here!

    Don’t want Koeman/Howe. Won’t complain but there’s others I’d rather.

I do think with Jones in charge for Brighton we’ll get hammered.

Damien Duff just signed as managere from Shellbourne FC in Ireland - surely we could wrestle him away from that prestigious job, he also has experience in taking us down...

I think we tried, mate, but he thought the vision and strategy of Shelbourne FC was clearer than Newcastle's and preferred the stability.

They tried to exceed expectations and now the fans will act like whoever comes in isn't a big step fwd..

In a few years these guys will be after the job not the other way around.

Unfortunately it means Jones will picking the side vs Brighton, but long term its still a very positive future

This is where fans struggle with rejection because they have an over inflated opinion nufc.

They better get used to rejection

Taking weeks to appoint a new manager then appointing Eddie Howe will make Staveley & co a bit of a laughing stock in my view. Nowt new in the Toon being a laughing stock though is there!

Have the owners even tried to get Favre, for example? What was the thinking behind cutting Bruce but having a) no plan, and b) leaving his assistants?

I was happy yesterday, we finally had clarity and ambition. From what we've read last night and this morning, we made a complete hash of it. It's now undeniable that we're moving down the list and we've shot ourselves firmly in the foot by not doing very simple things correctly and as looks likely will be left with a younger Steve Bruce, who won't be backed by the fans from day one (sound familiar?) facing relegation. All of which was avoidable.

It has been a nightmarish start to life for the new owners. Whether in 3 years it's all a distant memory, who knows. But I might be dead in three years and it's ****ing annoying that I've got to spend half of that time watching Eddie Howe try to get us promoted.

This. Howe could've been there the day Bruce left. They've ****ed around and ****ed up.
