He’d honestly be the best long term choice for Newcastle. He will be able to have the time - assuming they accept he won’t be too blame if they go down this season But also *not a bad choice for Spurs given they have their own financial limits relative to those in the positions they want to be in
Yes and no. While it sounds impressive that he rose through the divisions in Sweden, I can tell you from experience that the lower leagues in that country are dire. Probably akin to the very lowest tiers of the English football pyramid. I went to a game in Ostersund (I was living in a town called Karlstad further south but my girlfriend was from Ostersund) in 2003. There was only one small stand and the other three sides of the pitch basically had a rope to keep the spectators off the pitch. There were only about 100 people watching. You get the idea. So, for a Premier League footballer to go in and do well coaching them, surprises me very little. To be fair though, the Allsvenskan is an okay enough standard, and getting Ostersund into Europe and competing against decent teams is certainly admirable. By the way, I'm not saying he's no good. I just think it's early days in his career, and we have seen plenty of good young managers fall by the wayside over the years.
Actually, funnily enough, when I was in Sweden, I emailed the club recommending that they take a look at Mamadou Diallo from Lillestrøm. In fairness, the chief scout at the time (whose name escapes me) emailed me back saying that they'd had a look at the area and there was nothing there at the time for them. Also in fairness to them, Diallo went on to do not very much, so they were probably right. That was the end of my scouting career.
I did have a wonderful dream where Everton kicked off their first game in the WARCHEST docks stadium after relegation I must admit.
West Ham soon to be Warchest 4 Wonder if we’ll ever have one, getting to the point where you’ll have to spend a load just to finish 12th
Everton lucky to be only 1 down. OK they're missing Calvert-Lewin but it's Doucoure they seem to be missing more.
Just in case anyone was wondering where Norwich's astonishing -22 GD after 10 games ranks in PL history, the only other team that I can find with a GD worse than -18 at this point was Barnsley, in 1997-98, at -21. But even Barnsley had a pair of wins to their name, so Norwich probably deserves to be crowned as the worst team through ten that the PL has ever seen.
