Probably a good bet to bring them back up should they go down. He'll be gone by next Christmas if he manages to keep them up imo.

Big test for Howe overall really and one way or another this will really impact his reputation.

Be interesting to see if he uses Fraser or ****s him off completely.
Pretty much what I was typing at the same time! And you change that to Christmas 2023 if they go down and he takes them straight back up

It will be interesting to see how much financial support he gets in January, especially if he hasn’t started to turnaround the results, by then, and they find themselves a bit isolated from the pack.
And will any new signings insist on a release clause in the event of relegation?
Going forward, with Wilson and Saint Maximan, they have the players to win games, if they could only defend.

Some of the main links so far are to defensive players. I have seen Ter Stegen and Sule mentioned. They’d need more (effective) bite in midfield I assume even if they did get those two

But if they are adrift even money might not convince them. Or perhaps they will sign them and Coutinho and loan them out to get the wages off the bill if they get relegated

I assume this happens due to the much stricter championship FFP rules

Van de Beek acting as kitman. Nice that Utd have finally found a role for their £40m man.

Newcastle heading to bottom of the table. Shame.

I think Howe could do a job for them in the long run, but not sure he will keep them up. His Bournemouth sides were infamously disorganised and their success was built on simply outscoring the opposition.

He will thrive at rebuilding them in the Championship though, that is if Newcastle give him the time. Their fans were never the most patient even before they became moneybags fc.

That one incident has saved this half from being the most boring in a very long time.

Potter's football might be nice. But without a decent striker at the end of it, it's horrendously dull.
