The table doesn't do justice to how bad Spurs have been. 3rd bottom in GD, fifth bottom in xG, they have played like a relegation contender. Even with all of the offseason chaos, that sort of performance will get a manager fired.

The rumours last week were that conte wanted a larger salary than Pogba and his own staff. Now that is either the standard case of people trying to rinse Manchester United for all they are worth or his actual demands. If it is the latter he won’t be going to Spurs

I mean, if they finish there after 38 games, then I get it. But even the likes of Allardyce, Pardew, Howe, and so on have had teams positioned temporarily in the top 7.

I bet we finish above Brighton.
They’ve beaten Burnley and Brentford away, Leicester at home, and got a very creditable draw at Anfield. They’re definitely up with the “best of the rest” so far, but as you say, let’s see where they are after Christmas.

Yeah they've done great. But let's not forget we were top of the league this time last season.

Yep. If I were them, I'd go -

Conte

Frank

But I wonder if Conte is holding out for United.

No, he's built a really progressive team that are exciting to watch with limited resources. He's brought some young players on, and like Poch, everyone improves under his guidance. The Brighton fans I know absolutely love him. Actually reminds me of when Poch was with us.

He'll be a great signing for someone, but he'd need time and the big clubs tend to be blinded by 'names'.

He has also been in management prior to this season...

What he achieved in Sweden was nothing short of miraculous. Then he got the Brighton role off the back of turning things around at Swansea.

He has had 3 jobs and succeeded in all of them, both in terms of results and playing style. Top manager.
