Must just be me that doesn’t like being told to shut the **** up then.

Although there is a couple of posters on here that I absolute can’t stand, I try my best to refrain from being personally rude to them. Is it too much to ask the same back?

RCL once before replied in his ‘jokey’ manner to me and was rude and I called him out on it then. Shouldn’t have happened a second time. I’ve also been called a cretin by another poster.

If the gloves are off then that’s fine by me but I’m pretty sure the mods would soon ban me if I swore at people or insulted them.
stfu is a standard "jokey reply" and is meant in fun, being called a cretin is a bit more serious dependant on context.
lighten up a bit and join the spirit of the site.

Both times it wasn’t said as stfu.

I’ve been on this site for over 10 years, I’m well aware of the ‘spirit of the site’

When i said site i meant the whole forum, sometimes you will get people on here who may offend you without even realising it.

Oh yeah, Spurs won

Some jinx <doh>

1. I have been making the reverse jinx joke for 5 or 6 years on here...it is so well known it is called "doing an RCL" when some one else does it and something good happens to Spurs.
Everyone knows it as a joke...or at least I thought they did.

2. I already said I do not believe in jinxes.

3. I already said that I would not respond to your posts with jokes in future.

4. I have no idea why you feel the need to again respond to the same joke for the second time.

5. For someone who complains about rudeness this post makes you look like a hypocrite.

6. You clearly have an issue with me which I am now aware of. I do not wanna irritate you or anyone else so i suggest we simply do not respond or even refer to each others posts? That way they'll be no more confusion in future.

To be clear, if you are called similar names in the future let me know (if I don't pick up on my own) and it will be removed. Equally if you feel someone is being rude, dm me and I will deal with it. Whoever it is. I have never seen RCL be rude and I'd have to see it to believe it but all will be treated equally. Rude about the team sometimes but we all do that. This place operates on banter and if we can't do that then it will be nothing. But there is a line on here and we can discuss any time you feel that line is crossed.

There’s three possible solutions/ resolutions to all this:

RCL gets a lifetime ban (I really like this one).

RCL gets put on ignore by everyone (I also quite like this one).

King joins the Mumsnet forum where sarcasm and **** humour is (probably) not allowed and we get stuck with RCL.

Helpful as ever. Thanks.

The mad thing is I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to pull results out the bag. We've seen it a few times with Ole where, just when you think he's on the precipice of being sacked, he starts to claw his way back from the edge.

That being said, there does seem to be a very different feel about it this time around. 2 wins from their last 7 games, haven't played consistently well in any game so far this season and relying on glimpses of magic from their front line to bail them out. David de Gea seems back to his best, yet they are still struggling to get results.

The expectations will have naturally risen amongst the fans with the signings of Varane, Ronaldo and Sancho. And let's not forget the sheer quality that already exists amongst that squad.

I know reports are saying that Ole is safe for now, but if they don't turn their form around in the next 3-4 games, the atmosphere will turn toxic and The Glazers may be forced to make a decision.

OGS is like a speeding motorist - it might take weeks, months or even a few years of good luck/fortune but eventually you will get caught because when you do not control the circumstances (speed cameras & police etc) you don't control the end result.

For the longest while Neville, Scholes, Keane and the ex-United apologists for OGS have been able to use Pogba as a scapegoat for the failings but now they have £200m back four and Fernandes who is supposedly the best thing since sliced bread and the "GOAT" Ronaldo the coaching problems are still apparent.

That Leicester game was the first nail in the coffin - the fans and players now realise they won't win things under him and once the fans/players lose belief there's no chance the board keep him.

I have no issue with you and most of your posts I enjoy and probably agree with.

Since SAF left, United have been a club in thrall to it’s own identity. They haven’t made a single sensible managerial appointment, all of them have been sentimental moves (Moyes, Sméagol) or vanity appointments (LVG, Mourinho). They’ve gone back for Pogba and never set the team up to play to his strengths, they’ve gone back for Ronaldo who will score goals but completely unbalance the team.

Ole isn’t a rookie manager anymore and he’s just not going to cut it, but he’s heavily backed because of the poor record of the management of the club, I think there’s a feeling that he’s ‘too big to fail’ but the penny will have to drop soon. He’s a cut price Zidane without most of the gravitas and standing in the game ZZ enjoys, and he’s not as good tactically either.

They haven’t got an awful squad, sure reinforcements especially needed for central midfield and parts of the defence but they’ve an embarrassment of riches up front even without CR7 and Fernandes is a leader in the attacking midfield role, even though his stats are massively padded through penalties. But they need to stop looking backward and end this obsession with the past. But there’s so much influence in the club and the media from the SAF years that it’s difficult for them to change the narrative.

He’s just a poor one I’d say, or average at best, doesn’t inspire any confidence, lacks any tactical nous at crucial moments and chats a hell of a load of **** to the press. Under him Utd are more or less the Arsenal of late 2000s/ early 2010s, the “filler” side of the top four. A good manager though and they’d be a real problem for any side with the talent they have.

There’s seemingly a few average managers in charge of good/ great sides though at the moment.

Ole at Utd.
Arteta at Arsenal.
Southgate at England.
Koeman at Barca.
Nuno with us.

Stars seem to be aligning for them. Half expecting Mark Hughes to replace Poch at PSG soon.

We know from the Poool empire that apart from having the
best players, there was continuity in the "back office" personnel
over all of the 1980s.

This is why Dalglish was able to prosper even though he had
no ostensibly apparent managerial qualities as a player.

Man Utd do not have this, and OGS commanding the respect
of the likes of CR7 is difficult when you :

1. are not their peer (at least Dalglish on-pitch was equal to or
better than the great majority of existing Poool players or new
signings he would then manage) .

2. have no prior demonstration of managerial success

On paper, tis a Jose type who should be able to get Man Utd up there again.
