The mad thing is I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to pull results out the bag. We've seen it a few times with Ole where, just when you think he's on the precipice of being sacked, he starts to claw his way back from the edge.

That being said, there does seem to be a very different feel about it this time around. 2 wins from their last 7 games, haven't played consistently well in any game so far this season and relying on glimpses of magic from their front line to bail them out. David de Gea seems back to his best, yet they are still struggling to get results.

The expectations will have naturally risen amongst the fans with the signings of Varane, Ronaldo and Sancho. And let's not forget the sheer quality that already exists amongst that squad.

I know reports are saying that Ole is safe for now, but if they don't turn their form around in the next 3-4 games, the atmosphere will turn toxic and The Glazers may be forced to make a decision.
They're too top-heavy and they lack a Carrick or Modric type to tie it together.
McTominay/Fred/Matic in a pairing is too defensive, but Pogba won't do enough work.
It also leaves them with players like van de Beek and Mata eating up wages for nothing.

Their firepower is unbelievable, but there's got to be someone deeper to get them into the game.
They don't appear to be making signings with any consideration for balance.

Said this before.

I’m too old and long in the tooth to believe that a positive comment on a random football forum will have any bearing at all on the game.

If you wish to believe that or play that game then fine, but it’s annoying that every time someone says something ‘positive’ that they’re told off

Was just a joke...I clearly don't believe it and clearly weren't "telling you off"

Thought having a laugh on here was OK but will stay well away from responding to your posts with jokes in future

Come on KH, Colin's jinx joke is one of the oldest in-jokes on this forum and isn't meant personally.

It turns out there's a reason why EA are planning to rename the FIFA franchise to EA Sports FC: when they applied to renew the FIFA license, FIFA said it would cost them a mere $1bn

However, before you assume this is due to FIFA being greedy bastards, consider this: in the fiscal year ending in April this year EA made $1.62bn on lootboxes alone, which amounts of 29% of their entire business, and the majority of this figure was generated by FIFA's Ultimate Team mode. In other words, EA could pay that figure and make it back by the end of this fiscal year just based on electronic gatcha bullshit and for the remainder of that contract just keep raking it in

In other words, FIFA have simply asked EA to properly compensate them - although stopped short of suggesting that maybe, just maybe, they remove the gambling mechanics from a product that bear's FIFA's name

Got out of the wrong side of the bed? This is a long running joke on here that lots of us enjoy. I hope RCL ignores your post. Also a bit unnecessary to suggest anyone on here actually believes it has any bearing on the actual result. We'd be the defending PL & ECL champions if it did.

Lots of plaudits for Brentford at the moment. Of course deserved but given without reservation. What reservation? Well a number of teams have come into the PL and done very well initially - Blackpool, Sheff Utd, Leeds to name but a few. But will they be in the PL playing the same football in a couple of seasons? Let's see. Meanwhile praise them but for goodness sake let's not carried away. Again.

I agree but I do think they are different from those other sides, extremely well coached defensively and have good enough footballers to take on even the best sides.

Scary scenes in the Eredivisie, as a stand at Nijmegen's ground buckled under the visiting Vitesse fans at fulltime

In any normal circumstance you'd instantly think "Oh ****, hope they're alright!" yet if you've seen the video on Twitter, a large number of them continue clapping and laughing as if a stand collapsing is no big deal... Even the pic shows a number of them laughing <laugh>

Must just be me that doesn’t like being told to shut the **** up then.

Although there is a couple of posters on here that I absolute can’t stand, I try my best to refrain from being personally rude to them. Is it too much to ask the same back?

RCL once before replied in his ‘jokey’ manner to me and was rude and I called him out on it then. Shouldn’t have happened a second time. I’ve also been called a cretin by another poster.

If the gloves are off then that’s fine by me but I’m pretty sure the mods would soon ban me if I swore at people or insulted them.
