Apparently (according to the posters on the biffa board) Rafa and Rodgers have both turned them down for the managers job, now they want Steve Gerard.

Looks like they want anyone except Steve Bruce, will be funny if they win at the weekend.

I thought Conte was favourite?

Is someone else going to do better with that squad? And if they're still bottom 3 come January would they trust that manager with 100m pounds?

Brucey's not been sacked, so will take charge of his 1,000th game as a manager this weekend.

Congratulations Steve, remember to bring your vodka and charlie etc...

Effectively put him in as caretaker. Bit disrespectful like.

One man’s hero is another man’s villain. Whilst many City fans love Bruce, for most Geordie fans, he’s their Grant McCann.

If we woke up Monday with new owners I wouldn't want them to sack McCann immediately, especially as we've just turned a corner with our form (Saturday pending). I think every manager is worth a chance to prove themselves to a new owner before a decision is made. McCann hasn't really had the resources to prove himself at this level (and when he had Bowen and Grosicki almost had us in the play offs).

Here we go again!!!!!

What a stupidly insensitive and even humiliating statement this is:

"Staveley said Bruce, who will celebrate his 1,000th game as a manager, will be the "first to know" if things change."

I would hope he has a good lawyer who can prove he was not the first to know.

Class, real class.

He'll get an 8m payout when he does go, I don't think he'll be particularly fussed when it happens, but the constant scrutiny and speculation can't be pleasant. More an issue with the media than the owners.
