It looks like it could be going through, so Steve Bruce will likely be out of a job again.
Apparently Ashley’s been there for 14 years. In the modern era of money in football, I think he’s put a lot into them. The question for the fans though, will the grass be greener with new owners?

There's a loooooong running thread on the Newcastle bit on here, <laugh> they're going to spend spend spend, they're gonna win the league, the cup and everything. FFP pah **** um we'll just pay the fines, we're in the money :emoticon-0169-dance. They can't decide if they want Kevin Keegan or Jose Murinio (who desperately wants the job) as manager. Counting chickens, they've got ****ing millions of them so far.

Pretty terrible with these state-backed ownerships coming into the PL with virtually bottomless pits of money. Will make the league increasingly uncompetitive for teams coming up from the Championship, so you end up with the same 6 teams swapping places between the two. Will just fuel discussions to get rid of pro/rel altogether.

Couldn’t find anything on here, I figured as it was on Sky that it was close, that it’d be near the top.

There’s always something that makes promotion & relegation come up, I can’t see it ever happening where it stops, it’ll give the bigger money teams more power, they’ll try to reduce the PL numbers AGAIN, but ultimately, it won’t happen, even if 50% of the PL is owned by money teams, they’ll know, they could still be relegated if there’s not enough **** teams at the bottom. “But then they’ll stop relegation,” no, even the mega rich teams understand that the rest of the football league helps them in the big picture.
If anything were to happen about it, then they’ll **** off to their Euro League & English football will be more enjoyable, IMO!

My concern is you're already seeing 2 out of the 3 promotion spots at least taken up with teams that were just relegated (last year Watford and Norwich, this year WBA and Fulham most likely) and then 2 out of the 3 relegation spots taken up with teams that were just promoted (Norwich and Watford perhaps this year, Fulham and West Brom last year), and in a few years it could be all 3. This has to be the most insular it's been in a fair while.

Just wait until Grant his best 11 out on the pitch. We can break through that glass ceiling again.

Vested interests will not be happy that another megarich owner is buying into the PL.

Expect all sorts of objections from other megarich clubs.

almost handy steve bruce potentially becoming free again at about the same time as his prime difficulties at city are potentially on their way.

Amazed he hasn't contacted this board to find out.[/QUOTE
You're reading too much into my post.

Everyone knows we've had players missing through injury and suspension every single game, also tactics wise, 1 or 2 forwards, 3 or 4 at the back?

Still work in progress!

Hate this stuff. Big boys with loads of cash and their new toys. Only saving grace is there is always a chance of another Leicester to make them all look bloody stupid. Compensating for a lack of something methinks.

I'd have him back in a heartbeat - especially if he could persuade Stan Ternant out of retirement for us. Hell, get him to bring back Alex too to bring some experience to our defence. It wouldn't solve our problems of not scoring very many goals but stopping the opposition scoring will improve our position in the table a bit.:emoticon-0100-smile Plus the amusement value of watching charon self-combust in outrage...
