And that is the point I was making, it had nothing to do with his Newcastle connections when he was sacked by us, it was the football being played and the results. He will be pulling the same reasons out blame you the fans for his sacking.

You know what, you're right, a holiday really isn't the Watergate scandal people want it to be.
That said, where I lose my patience with him is how he responds. He's so entitled. Why can't he just laugh it off and say he wanted a change of scenery while he put together some final touches for our planning? Why does he have to torch the stage every time he's asked something he doesn't like? He's a thin-skinned blowhard, and I'm tired of being patronized by someone that is so poor at his job. He refuses to be questioned by anyone, or explain himself. It's never his fault.
The problem with him is that he's everything his predecessor wasn't. Rafa never talked down to us. If anything, he calmed things down when it got a bit intense. He doesn't give off the idea he works hard. He always talks up our opponents and talks down our chances.
Benitez encouraged the potential of this football club at a time when we'd been relegated and had very little to buy into. Bruce inherited a steady mid-table side and has talked about us like we're Blyth Spartans, feeding into out-dated stereotypes about supporters, and playing woe-is-me for a sub-mediocre performance.
If he's getting **** from the press it's because he's done nothing to win them over, on or off the pitch. Well, apart from George Caulkin, who's clearly afraid to criticise his mate.
I’ve been thinking about this holiday thing and your right he is allowed a holiday. But there’s a time and a place. And when your team are playing poor not getting results then a holiday is the last thing he should be doing.
All it does is give the media and fans ANOTHER gripe to have a go at him at a time when it’s a ticking time bomb.
The man has no brain and again shows how selfish he really is.
When things are going wrong at work and your colleagues and staff you manage are looking for guidance and support how do they feel if you **** off on holiday leaving them to sort it all out?
I don't think anyone benefits from his guidance and the reason they played well was because he wasn't there personally.
I think we should be encouraging him to go on holiday every week.
There’s a video doing the rounds on Twitter which looks like Bruce is saying something like “it’s ****e”
And Jones is next to him. Maybe Jones was asking him what Portugal was like!

The fans and local journalists have been being ****s to Steve bruce from day 1 and continued even when he was getting results for large periods of time last year.
It's all frustration and hate aimed at the wrong person.. Everyone knows he's a crap manager and Ashley and Charnley are getting off lightly... ( probably why they employed bruce)

It was a petty stupid question that was asked that had no impact on the game or training and I agree with Bruce on it.
Why not ask why we aren't capable of keeping the ball?
Essentially if you dig down the wrong holes it looks silly to people nufc fans are trying to present their case to..
Keep the spotlight on the ACTUAL issues like selections, performances, tactics, formations etc.

Weird that Trev hasn't appeared to castigate you for bringing up Rafa. Its almost like he only gets upset when negative things are said. Usual double standards from an NUFC supporter I suppose.
The way nufc fans are behaving about rafa is the same way a man behaves after a female that was out of their league leaves them.
Do The Chronicle have representatives at the training facilities? If not, the question was valid. If they do have a person there then it was point scoring and he had every right to have a go at Ryder. I'm leaning towards it being ****e and Lee Ryder knows Bruce hasn't been away but asked the question anyway.
Think I heard it on one of the podcasts that he flew off to Portugal as felt he'd been shafted with the Choudary deal with transport and medical being cancelled behind his back and that the club didn't even know if he would return.
