This was buying a lottery ticket at a petrol station. (I don't buy them often but do occasionally for fun).


Some places DO have mandatory checks for cigarettes/alcohol in stores. The system makes them type in the birthdate to prove they checked. Never been carded at this place by anyone else before.

Yeah, a bunch of us were in NY for a wedding / 30 bday bash and every single bar we went to, every single one of us got ID'd before we could order. Some places checked your ID on the door.

My wife is one of those who greyed early. Heck when we married she was 20 and already had a few stray grey hairs. She doesn't really look old, except for the grey hairs... <laugh>

But she's used to them and not likely to trigger mid life crisis for her. She's been talking about dyeing her hair for years though. I suspect this might push her over to actually do it.

Errrrr I thought most women just did it most all of their lives.

Maybe you should just avoid the topic as if she goes over the edge you dont want to be the one stood in her path as she dives off that cliff.

I don't know about most, but certainly a lot more women do than men...

Fun fact:. I failed to dye my pubes green once. Apparently, I don't know how to dye hair properly.

(The purpose was just to be silly, not a fashion statement... I got some green hair dye for free).

How did you fail.

We had one that dyed her hair green by accident trying blond and the tears were real. The ribbing she got off the lads was savage. Nothing I could do to comfort it. Life was over and that.

Had to get her to a trusted adult to dye it copper or whatever to at least save the drama.

What colour did you end up with?

I fail to dye mine every day.

Every now and then when buying booze at a supermarket I ask the check-out person whether they want to see my ID - the responses range from a knowing smile to bafflement.
It's a good job nobody ever says yes, because I don't have any.
 
Entered the Chester raft race once and we built a Viking longship, it was long. The rules said rafts could be no wider than 10 ft, ours was 10ft by 30ft. Built in two sections and bolted together once on the River Dee. We used a Hymac to get it down to the river edge. We had a crew of about 15, and one of the lads got some potato sacks from the farm where he worked for our "Viking" outfits. Went great on the day, in and out of the water during the water/rotting veg fights. Then back to the pub.

Following day we all met up in the pub for a Sunday lunch pint and we were all various shades of green as the sacks had previously contained spuds that had been sprayed green as they were not fit for human consumption. bloody dye took about 3 weeks to finally disappear!

Liverpool are in a three-club battle to sign Red Bull Salzburg wonderkid Karim Adeyemi.

That's according to German outlet Bild, who write that the Reds are in the running to sign one of the most promising young strikers in Europe.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also eyeing a move for the 19-year-old, who scored just seven goals last season in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Apparently Jorge Mendes (he of Wolves fame) is whoring Fati out to Clubs around Europe.

Could be that player and agent don't see a future with Barca due to the money worries.

If Barca are forced to sell, due to unsettlement and needing the money, he's one I would hope we seriously go for.
Also hope we're keeping an eye on Pedri if the same should arise.

Far too far out of our league.

Barca should be selling both these guys as the two top young talents
