What exactly can/can't be done now the window has shut? Signing players for a fee I know. Can we still get loans in if Tranmere can or was this done before the window shut and they've just announced it now?
Free agents are allowed to sign, anything else?
I think the window is closed now unless it's an emergency loan. Its likely that Hawkes loan was agreed before the deadline, but not finished completely. There is a sort of "place holder" agreement that can be sent to the FA before deadline to say its agreed but just needs final details completing which gives a bit more timeto get it done, but I think its only a few extra hours. So it might have been one of these used in this case, with the deal finished sometime yesterday and they announced it today.

Saying that, I could be wrong and the loan window could still be open for some levels!

Totally get why we've loaned out Diamond and Hawkes, at their age they need the regular football and League Two seems a good option for both of them. That keeps Ellis Taylor here, for who the experience of being around our first team set up this year will be good for his development and get the EFL Trophy games. For Hawkes and Diamond they need more than that.

Just heard Nick Barnes on tertle spert on about Aiden O'Brien to Doncaster. Seems he was made available late on Tuesday. Found this on the Echo site.....

Presumably the club feel we have enough even without O'Brien then. Getting him out that late wouldn't have seen us bringing anyone else in.

They must do, I presume they agreed to let him go once they knew the Dajaku deal was done but after bagging a hat trick a few days before I'd be a bit pissed off if I was AOB. Im glad they have kept him, I think we will need him

Seems a strange one, particularly with Hawkes and Diamond also going out on loan. The only thing I can think of is that with Dejaku signing, that O'Brien would be dropping out of the squad but, in the event of injuries, this would have left us short of numbers up front, unless there is a young one they they think can step up.

Probably agreed when we thought Grigg was staying, balance the books. Once the turd left, keep AOB
