I don't like our tendency to turn players that haven't done well here in to pantomime villains. Grigg didn't want to be here, he'd rather have been closer to home. You can't force a player to love a club. We should never have signed him in the first place. He's gone now let's forget him.

We're even over the top about players like Chopra. All that stuff about that miss being deliberate is bollocks. He made that up later to keep in with the Mags.

Rodwell is the only one that deserves our ire, due to the fact that he was happy to give up on being a footballer, anywhere. Grigg just wanted to be somewhere else.

I doubt anyone put his arm up his back and frogmarched him here. If he didn't want to come, he shouldn't have signed the dotted line.

If he does mate, I hope the club's got a reply ready. People like him deserve to be shown up for what they are.

We're becoming smarter with everything which is an absolute blessing ...

... I enjoyed Johnson's words when he basically said Grigg wanted to have his cake and eat it.

I'd rather we paid him to stay away, as we're doing, to be honest.

It feels better for me and I don't have to share a dressing room with the ball of gloom.

Like I said to Clocky, wasn't the rumour that Wigan needed the money for him because they were in trouble?
But moves often don't work out as people hope/think/want, whether that's in football or any other walk of life. Unlike Rodwell, he clearly wanted to play football, as his loan at MK Dons shows.

What do you know.? He's blaming us losing in the play offs and changing managers for his utterly disgraceful form/behaviour

And lack of effort. Its quite ironic how he mentions he was training at a high level but fails to mention the inept performances and sitters he used to miss whenever he did get a chance to stake his claim in the first team.

If that was the case mate, then it really demonstrates how clueless Donald was. We should have had them by the short and curlies, instead of letting ourselves be dictated to by a club who were desperate for cash. Madness!

Even then, Grigg was under no obligation to agree to the move.

This is it. No matter which way you look at it, he was a poor signing. An act of vanity by a fella who didn't know what he was doing. That's not really Grigg's fault. He won't be a foot note in our history, we've moved on as a club.

So you suggest nothing was Griggs fault and we should be less critical ? is that what you are saying.

No. That's not what I've said at all. He was a poor signing, he should never have been here. A mediocre player for a club like SAFC who's profile was raised beyond what it should have been on the back of a couple of decent seasons and a catchy song. Donald was seduced by that and wasted money on him- not Grigg's fault. By turning him into a figure of hate we continue to give him a falsely inflated profile, beyond what he would otherwise have achieved. He should be nothing to us. Just like my other example, Chopra, who we continue to hate because he claims that he missed on purpose. He didn't. He made that up later to please the Mags. Grigg may come out later, and already has to some extent, and claim that things were awful here for him to increase his exposure. Why feed that by making him a pantomime villain?

Its you that is giving him publicity by trying and failing in my opinion to give the fraudster any credence whatsoever, So you can feed away, I'm done.

Not sure where you get the idea I'm giving him any credence. I didn't want us to sign him in the first place and wasn't surprised that it turned out to be a bad move. I only commented on this thread because I think it makes us look silly to hate such an obviously bad signing. You seem determined to pick an argument with me for some reason so I won't comment further on it.

I have nothing good to say about Will Grigg and his time at SAFC, but I have a suspicion that all is not well with the lads mental state, I don't have any evidence to back this up, and I could be miles off the mark, but his demeanour reminds me of an old mate of mine who had everything going for him, and was given every opportunity in life, but somehow he just was never able to shake the demons off his back. Just my opinion , but I think there's something going on with the lad inside, I hope he finds a happy life, in or away from football.

I don't care how many he scores for another Club, as Clearly, he wasn't going to do it here.

This sort of thing happens in football and to every Team.

But, at last it's over and I can happily forget that he was ever with us.

(Or perhaps not. On those cold winter nights when there's nowt on the box my mind wanders to the dark corners of my memory, and BRET ANGEL's name often crops up.
Hope watsisname doesn't join in)
