I said straight after our first game against Barnsley when he came on as sub, Wintle looked lost to me as if he wanted to be told what to do. Although I didn't go to the Sutton game, I think he started but failed to influence the play at all. Not sure if he picked up an injury, but I don't think he was in any of the 18 man squads for Peterborough, Blackpool nor Millwall mainly because of that poor Sutton performance . The last staw for me was his aimless appearance alongside a lacklustre Vaulks against Brighton. The opposition were quick and slick, but no great shakes to run rings around two of our midfielders like that. Vaulks can play better than that because we've seen it, but for me Wintle is way off the pace at the moment and we can't afford to wait. Haven't had time enough to even assess if he's got potential for later this season, but on what I have seen, we won't miss him. I'd rather have kept Watkins as an option up front rather than Wintle as an option in midfield.
Kieffer replacement?....................... https://the72.co.uk/248625/cardiff-city-want-rotherham-united-striker-michael-smith/
Collins replacement Wolves interested elsewhere? https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/12m-star-set-wolves-medical-21430128
Wolves interest (alleged) in Moore looks to have ended............... https://theathletic.com/news/wolves-near-loan-signing-of-rb-leipzigs-hwang-hee-chan/yB2z1HFIR0Xe EDIT :- apologies Nin, didn't see your post above before I put this up.
Maybe rubbish, but it could still happen - especially after them looking shy in front of goal yesterday.... https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/wolves-transfer-stance-leaves-door-open-to-potential-cardiff-deal/
Can't imagine him wanting to be 3rd choice somewhere given his Wales ambitions. He said last year when he was run into the ground he wanted to play every week. As an aside, did you try the quiz that came after the article? I managed 17 of 25. Found it tough.
Agree Remote. He could even be 4th choice and Jimenez will only gain strength and confidence the more he plays. Wolves are more likely to cash in on Traore and get a winger who can cross more accurately. It doesn't matter who their main striker is if they can't get the ball in the right places. As we well know. Wonder if they fancy Murphy?
Some good news...................... https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/rubin-colwill-signs-new-deal
Yes, much needed after Saturday. I can't see Moore leaving this window - unless we get £10m minimum and in time to get someone else in who knows where the back of the net is. Not another journeyman like Collins
Not sure who the guy Vincent Tam is that they refer to either. Took that to be the bit that made it false rather than it be a typo.
VT took over in 2010, regardless of typo. 11 years now, Inc. 2 promotions, 1 play off final loss and a league final loss. Not a bad return compared to previous 50 years.
Not exactly sensational deals, but at least Birmingham get Troy Deeney, Sheffield Utd get Hourihane, Huddersfield get Odubeko, Reading get Drinkwater and Dann. Is anyone holding their breath?
Im sorry but this club has no idea how to deal in the transfer market,we bring in people and loan them out ,ive always said the youth players should be brought into the first team ,but come on there are now to many ,you need experience players to supplement one at a time,Look at what Sheffield, hudders, reading and brum have signed experience players,i think we will be lucky to stay in this league this season I just hope there are 3 worse teams than us.just saying. And if they sell moore they want shooting and that will be me finished,i was a supporter when they sold Toshak to Liverpool and it took a long time for me to come to terms of it but this would be the end for me ,its like Aber said football died years ago its so sad.
With you all the way until your last point. Think we're plenty good enough for top half. Will need to see improvements to believe it can be anything more.
Understand Will's frustration 100%, but I agree we have enough in the tank to finish above half way but are a couple of players short of anything better. That of course is on the negative side we don't suffer a string of injuries, and on the positive side, we get a couple of the young guns to really come good .
