Not seen the lad play myself but will be delighted if this comes off. That so many of the Spurs fans are disappointed to lose him on a permanent deal is telling. Spurs fans I work with really rate him and think he should be pushing to be on their bench despite the likes of Davies already being there behind Reguillon (sp). Fair play to the lad for being so strong minded in making the move in light of his bereavement. Looking forward to seeing him play for the lads.
I agree with you mate. It's the fault of the club that we've had players like Graham, Grigg, etc, not the players who are just after another wage. As you say, we need to look forward now and never bring in players like them again. Jones had the chance to be part of all this but couldn't motivate himself. So he's ended up on loan at Wigan where he'll probably start less than half of their games and end up at another L1 club next season. Talent is great but it's useless without the effort and dedication. Everyone on the pitch looks fit at the moment, even McGeady who's in the best shape since he arrived at the club imo.
You're having me on, did they have to pay money for him? He came on, against us, and tbh the seagulls were more of a threat
In hindsight, you could call Wigan's transfer window "minging" We were all worried that Power, Wyke and Jones were going to come back to haunt us, but in truth on Saturday each one of them showed why we got rid of them. Seems as though the Wigan fans already have Wyke sussed and it won't take long for the Max Power love-in to fade and Jones will be a 1 in 5 player for them
Players like Ronaldo are super fit and work their nuts off ... ... it's one in a million who can do a 'Jan Molby'
Can't be true. I'm sure i read somewhere that we were losing the transfer window to the likes of Wigan and Ipswich because they were making signings
Jones could be a real player, the fact he’s in his mid 20’s now and hasn’t even began to step it up says it all. Rangers are strong, I remember Gerrard when we signed him ‘he can play but…..’ Clearly Gerrard hasn’t seen anything change and released him. Now whatever anyone’s opinion of Gerrard his professionalism is beyond any reproach.
I've never once liked Gerrard but he certainly knows his stuff. Going to Rangers was the perfect choice and he's avoided all the media stuff that Lampard couldn't handle. If it hadn't worked out he could've come back to England without a blemish tbh.
Very true. Wasn’t a fan of him as a human, the amount he got away with off the park and the amount that was swept away and kept out the press was wild. But purely from a football perspective, my god he was decent. Committed, a leader and a pro. He will spot Jones a mile off. Same way he’s taken players nobody else fancied and got them to a higher level. He will have a good management career, I trust if he thinks Jones ain’t gonna step up.
