Are yiy saying buy outright at 1.5m? Must admit, I think flogging young players for relatively low prices but with heavy sell on clauses makes a lot of sense.
Thought I'd read somewhere that FIFA were trying to stop Premier League teams from stockpiling young kids from other teams and sending them out on loan. Here's hoping this actually works. Personally I would've liked it to be more stricter in the numbers loaned out https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51665904
The club have also said that they're only going to sign players of a particular quality. If those players aren't available yet or our negotiations haven't yet been successful, then they certainly are sticking to the plan.
Maybe it's a first step. Rules on this and agents really needed. Agents should only be able to represent on side in a deal and should be paid by player only imo.
For all we know we could have been lowballibg clubs. No one knows why we've not brought in players and to say we certainly will later in window is wishful thinking. Nothing is certain apart from death and taxes. If they can't sign the right players the may need to adjust their plan to get them in and give lj the support he needs.
Still going to be the long game with the majority of these isn't it. I reckon we'll be wanting five given they've left 2, 5, 7 and 9 free and then theres a LB too.
But this is just it, no one really knows why more players haven't arrived. The noises coming from the club are that they are working on bringing the right players in. The first game of the season has gone well, the club are talking about bringing players in, they're saying they aren't going to waste money on mediocre players, and many of the youngsters are grasping the opportunity that they're being given. I don't understand the need to keep criticising the club about things that we have no concrete evidence to go on.
Derby are in disarray mate. Can barely field a team and have limits on how many they can sign. Will be a big surprise if they stay up. They have a couple of good young lads in Sibley and Bird but they will need to be selling for reasonable money to make it worthwhile for them, because as it stands they will play a lot of football this year. Oddly they have two good keepers. Marshall, is playing second fiddle now and is a solid championship keeper. He would be an upgrade for a lot of clubs.
I remember Liverpool winning the First Division title and European Cup and using no more than 14 players.
That's what he's saying mate. Of course it may just be an agent trying to stir up a hornets nest. Agents only make money when players are moving around and there's vey little of that. Jebbison must wonder wtf is going on if he reads these forums
I guess theres the chance/hope that clubs like Exeter might drop their arse late in the window when the offers on the table might not go through. Think there'll be a manic couple of weeks yet across all divisions.
Me neither mate, it's that like that Kabbadi game where they have to keep repeating 'Kabaddi, Kabaddi, Kabaddi, Kabaddi, Kabaddi, Kabaddi, Kabaddi ... ... until they run out of breath What's the point of bringing in someone decent now when we could sign someone much better in less than a few weeks. There's none, in fact it would be ridiculous.
That's interesting mate. It would have happened already if we could have guaranteed him X amount of game time but the system that we will play wouldn't allow it and rightly Ross needs a run. The delay has brought in other clubs.
I don't believe any player has been, or will be, granted a certain amount of games tbh. Grigg would be guaranteed games if he actually put in some effort and played to his ability. We're SAFC and need to start acting like a club of our stature ... ... if Jebbison, or any other playing has to be bribed to come, we'll wait imo.
We got by on Saturday. LB in particular was an issue. It'll effect Neil's confidence if he's left there many more games. Club always say they want to bring in quality. It's a football discuss on forum if we can't talk about a glaring weakness in out side I'm not what we can discuss. There were lots of positives on Saturday but this threatens all of the good work. Getting full backs (multiple so we've cover too) In also releases Neil and winchester to strengthen the midfield options. Neil could have had 30 mins in midfield yesterday which would have been more benificial to him than a full game out of position. It also allows other players to concentrate on their jobs rather than look to help him out. It's a massive positive to way we play and imo once we're sound at the back we could really take teams apart.
We do but when loaning from a club in a higher league they rightly want the player to develop. Otherwise what's the point. Alot of times, games are included. Sometimes contractually. This was more of a discussion. That said, been up here then back down a few times.
