I'm pointing out a huge error were making. I'm not the only one who feels this way. Just because we don't think everything's perfect it doesn't mean we're negative.
No its really not easy. No one at the club on the football side thinks it's a good idea to go into a season without key areas filled. There's a reason late signings get called panic buys.
Any chance of you pulling it back in line with any kind of snippets? do you have any info or updates on current rumours? .... how is the high quality Centre back coming along? and do you believe Jebbison and Cirkin are likely?
Centre back will happen once Wright agrees the package. If he doesn't, he might end up staying and we go for cheaper cover. Jebbinson been up and down here like a yo-yo. Still possible but more difficult now. Heard nothing to suggest that the Dennis has hit issues.
I think I am right in saying Hume is injured, long term? This being the case does it not make sense that both club and player will be better suited leaving things as they are until he makes a recovery. I mean, technically speaking, he is not a Sunderland player now, is he? Whether he signs on or not, due to his injury, we still need a left back? If we get one, and he stays, he'd be good competition. If he goes? Oh well.
I meant its is easy just to post the exact opposite of what other people are saying and claim to be right. I'm sure no one at the club wants to not fill those positions but its also clear that they're trying to bring in quality, so I don't see that there's a problem. Late signings don't always get called panic buys and this idea that being patient in the transfer market is bad goes against what I've heard from people within the pro game. So for this reason, I'm quite reassured that the approach that's being taken is perfectly acceptable.
There's a link with all of these players... Anybody know what it is? please log in to view this image
Hi mate, I've been talking to someone who reckons Sheff Utd have offered him for 1.5m and that's what has actually delayed things. I laughed when he told me but he's had his moments in the past, called Allardyce as manager a week before anyone mentioned it. Do you think it's possible. I know they have a lot of forwards and are totally focussed on getting back to the PL. Surely other clubs would be bidding, if he was for sale, but money is tight for most of them.
If your mate is correct then that would muddy the waters significantly. I could imagine quite a few club's looking at him for that price. Here's hoping he's liked what he's seen up here
According to the lad I spoke to the trouble is Chelsea could easily buy him, send him out on loan abroad and park him in the 'for sale' queue of players they'll treble their money on. The loan club would pay his wages so it would just be a profit making exercise for them.
That's how opinions work though isn't it. I believe one thing others may have a different view. If we have a list of players (speakman said we have) then we've had from may to get them in. As yet we've not signed one player permanently from another club. That can't have been the plan. LJ clearly wasn't happy and said so In pre season. I hope we make progress. Some now saying they'd be happy without signings, madness imo. We can't go up with current squad.
And Chelsea has a history of doing just that! And no doubt the agent would get his nice little cut from hawking his client around Europe after representing him in his move out of Sheffield
Imo that's what's wrong with transfer system. Chelsea have had players for 10 years and they've been out on loan the whole time nit making an appearance fir the club. It can be Good for the players. I hope they look at this and stop the practice of stockpiling players. Would help us as less likely youth team would be poached.
The lad who told me knows a couple of agents, one of whom I can't abide, so he does hear stuff. He says Derby are offering players around but he doesn't know if we've been approached. I don't know their squad well enough to start wondering tbh.
