    Like I posted before, the last time we had two Armstrongs in the team we finished runners up in the league in '84....<bubbly>

    I haven’t seen a lot of him in recent years and I know he’s developed into a numerically weird goal scorer but he was very highly rated as a young Newcastle player who never really got a regular chance there. His name was always on lists of the most promising players in the country. I wonder if Crocker’s had an influence here. He’s mentioned before how his past in youth development at club and national level gives him a lot of inside info on U.K. players. Hope it works out, Armstrong deserves the move up and inshallah he manages to hit the ground running.

    Not just a tap-in merch. Here's some of his long rangers, lobs and even a free kick;

    Shooting (on target) from outside the box... we'll soon knock that out of him!?!

    Some great goals there. Could be a great signing - fingers crossed!

    We had another lad that we signed from Blackburn who used to shoot from outside the box a lot and he turned out to be not half bad....James Beattie

    A good finisher can score at all levels, the goals are the same size in the PL.

    The swift counter attack. I thought we were doing them more frequently in the friendlies against Cardiff and Swansea, so hopefully it will become the new way we play.

    I'm happy we've almost got him. Did not want this going all the way to deadline day. He's not the finished article by any means but he's a goalscorer and that's what we need.

    I see he wore the number 7 for Blackburn.
    Will he take the now vacant number 9, or will he ask for the number we normally give to legends?

    I think it's the way we've always wanted to play. When we were good (which was only back to the first half of last season) we were doing just this. Then injuries and madness occurred.

    True, but it may be if we can shift the incumbent out on loan until the end of his contract.

    Window doesn’t shut until the 31st, so presumably squad numbers don’t have to be finalised until after that.
