It's a laudable aim but getting a free ifollow subscription might be the easiest bit. Do care homes have the technology to stream an internet feed to this, that or the other tv screen? Or would they pile everybody into one room/area to watch? What about bedridden fans? I don't want to be negative but it could throw up more issues than it addresses. Much better if the Allams would let Radio H do a live commentary. Or what about having Hospital radio do one (does Hull have one)?
Turned up at my old folks one time to find them listening to commentary of a Grimsby or Scunthorpe game. They had no idea there are two radio humbersides, one am and another on fm. The radio had sat there untouched for years, Saturday afternoon 3 pm hit the on button. Not all oldies are tech savvy.
Thanks for your feedback, I know it's a crazy idea, but it's just a seed of an idea and I think it's good one. Obviously I couldn't sort this myself, but I'm sure there are people at the club who could help get it done?
Oh I know, I once got a call from my dad, he was panicking because his Hi-fi wouldn't work. I went round there and "Dad, it's not plugged in
Someone's just told me Humberside are broadcasting the game on Saturday. That's not right is it? Unless you bastards are keeping something from me
Perfect idea and should be extremely simple to do.... Sounds like something burnsey would get himself behind for his show
I'd have no idea how to pull this off myself, but like I said, I'm just putting it out there. Hopefully someone more savvy than me can get it up and running. I absolutely garuntee if this actually came to fruition, I'd get a membership.
It's a great idea. If a return to RH isnt going to happen then it would be brilliant if the club would find a way to run with it. I'm no good at marketing n stuff, but it came to mind that they could perhaps market it as something catchy like 'you've earned your stripes'. Good or what? Seriously though, great idea and opportunity for the club to demonstrate real engagement with its community.
I've got a feeling that the EFL/ifollow will have some rules in there about it being shown In larger places like pubs etc... Would these kind of larger audience rules cover care homes?
It is a good idea. Whether it can be set up is another matter. And what about care homes outside of Hull as many City fans don't live in Hull? (Just doing a bit of forward planning as you never know what the future holds...)
I would assume that’s the case Or at least be an issue showing it in a place of work which care homes are It’s a nice idea though. Obviously no good for Saturday games though?
That has crossed my mind. Like I say though, I'm far from being an expert on these things. I would have thought though, if any body tried to stand in the way of it, tried to stop it happening, there would be a swift response from the general public?
It's just an idea mate, even if it's a bad one. Like I've said, I'd have no idea if it could be done. I'm just putting it out there.
I don't do twitter or anything like that, but if anyone on here does think it may have a chance of coming to something. Please put it out there.
