Having a medical at Wigan apparently. We should have been going all out to try and get him back imo. He will have a point to prove on Saturday as well, can seeing him having a field day with us having no full backs.
Power plays it wide to Jones. Jones whips a ball into the box. Wyke beats Flanagan to the ball and heads in.
For a consolation goal for Wigan in the 95th minute, but it's the Mackems who take the points with a 3-1 win.
E Early goal and the roof comes off. Especially if it's Embleton or Stewart. I'm just looking forward to it, it's been too long.
Scenes when just before kick off Power, Jones and Wyke all contract the superbug that's been taking over our team.
If Jones has one of his good games in ten he could be dangerous ... ... he's a waste of money and Wigan seem intent on admin again.
Wigan's recruitment teams brief: Sign players who were at Sunderland last season and they releasee or didn't try to sign again because they didn't cut it. P.s. pay over the odds if required.
We gave Jones plenty of chances and he let us down. I can well imagine him playing a blinder against us and it being his one good performance of the season.
I think he’s the clearest example of people making up their minds about a player and then sticking to it despite the evidence in front of their eyes to the contrary. A load of posters (a lot with an affection for Rangers) declared him a game changing signing and still, despite him 90% of the time ranging somewhere between ineffectual and awful for us, say to this day that he’s too good for this league or is the best player in this league etc. Why did he never show it then?! The above in no way precludes the inevitable world beating performance he’ll unfortunately put in on Saturday.
He was good until and in games where teams didn’t just kick him a few times, then he would lose interest. We of course won’t do that, so yes he’ll play a blinder.
Jones would still walk into our squad currently. We’ve got the likes of 18 year Ellis Taylor making the bench…
