Anyone still got any holidays abroad booked for this year? Are they still happening? I've got 2 weeks in Turkey still booked but not looking good tbh. Just wondering what people are doing. Price's have gone right up for a 'staycation' at home.

I was in Corfu last week. Had flights for £10 each return from teeside, but when you add the costs of transfers, baggage, hotel and tests, it was cheaper to go through TUI. The tests were only £40 total for the two of us. A slight chew on, but only takes about an hour out of your holiday. Masks situation was pretty much the same as here.

What was the craic over there when you arrived? Loads of paperwork or straight in the hotel and in the pool? (I'm simplifying it a bit!)

Rhodes end of September, NYC end of October.
Ain't got a clue what's going ahead or how to go about getting tests.

Got stopped at the airport for a COVID test, with about another 50. It was like Russian roulette waiting for your result, but when they called your name, you get the thumbs up. A couple in front of me got took away to a “hotel” though.
if you’re semi literate with a phone, you’ll be fine to do the tests. PLF, double jabbed confirmation and test results depending on where you’re going.
Hotel, dining, shopping etc pretty much the same as here.
I wouldn’t let the carry on put you off <ok>

Loads of Brits on the Costa Del Sol this past few weeks, I understand what Smug is saying about not going abroad again but the weather is the determining factor when peeps are arranging hollies. I couldn't do cold for 9 months of the year again, rain all the time and bleak grey days without some summer sun is not for me.

I'm in Larnaca airport at the moment waiting to fly home. Have had a great time going around the island by local bus, including the Turkish part (although it was a song & dance to be allowed in).

The airport companies have got it off to a tee regarding checking passengers' COVID status, as long as you have your paperwork in order travelling is a piece of piss.

Canada in October IF they allow in unvaccinated kids. Bit of a stand-off at the moment as the official advice states kids under 12 don't need to be vaccinated if accompanied by fully vaccinated parents. Trying to find out whether exemptions will be allowed for 12-18 year olds where their home countries (UK) don't vaccinate kids.

Otherwise, I'm going on my todd and that's a hard sell to the wife

Don’t know what’s happening
This traffic light system is been reviewed today
I can’t remember how many holidays I’ve lost since august last year
Rebooked cruise two times cancelled holidays rebooked and cancelled
Changed three for next year
I really don’t know where im at at the moment
I will go at the drop of a hat when the government make it ok
To much of a risk at the moment RED IS NEAR
Then you pay £1700 pp and isolate in a hotel

Vince, you've cancelled/lost more holidays than I've had in 47 years.

I know mate it’s not nice we haven’t been away since august nearly 1 year
The withdrawal is horrendous
50 years of the med and kicked into touch in 1 mad swoop of the virus

Booked up for Greece next May and hoping things are more back to normal by then. If anybody fancies an all inclusive holiday with a bit of luxury, I'd thoroughly recommend this lot:

We've been to the Oceania one pre-pandemic, and we're going next to Aria. It's not cheap up front, but when you consider the standard of what you're getting, and that you don't have to put your hand in your pocket from the moment you arrive until you leave, it's actually really good value. It even includes a day when you can take one of their Minis and go off for an explore.
