My Wolves supporting mate says Ryan Giles is a very promising young player. Think he works best as a wing back. Could be Premiership standard in a couple of seasons. May need to develop a bit more physicality
Another of Vincent's boys appointed to the board. Jalil Rasheed. A big football fan, apparently, but no football management experience.
His remit at the club will include directing club strategy, player acquisition and financial planning. Some strategy which is good, as is the financial planning. Less inspired by his directing player acquisition.
City interested in Jack Hunt after leaving the Wurzels. Another 31 year old, really? Would need to change his name... To Mike.
TBH, it does look a bit like him but statues never do justice to the subject hahahha. btw good luck with Giles, you'll probably see what we mean by the end of Sept.
So, is that it then? Our hand is dealt. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/i-cant-see-happening-cardiff-21079344
Looks like he has cashed in his chips and left the table. Odd attitude, particularly if Moore or Vaulks were to be sold.
I make that James Collins, Ryan Wintle, Ryan Giles and Mark McGuinness brought in then - hardly a tactically game-changing selection. Don't want to write off the season before a ball is kicked in anger, but from where I'm sitting, we're more likely to kick players in anger than the ball. Have we got to suffer more of the same or can Mick get a different tune out this squad? Would like to think him and Connor have got an imaginative plan going into the season that we all never saw coming - but I'm not holding my breath.
I think with a few tweaks and a full pre-season MM can change how we play. How fundamental those changes will be I dont know. Could be a refined version of last season or something quite different.
Sadly, if this is the extent of our dealings then I can only see mid-table at best. As much as I think some of our younger players will come to the fore and cause a few surprises, I find it hard to imagine that they'll manage to perform consistently well enough over the course of the season to keep us in contention for anything more. Same for a few of our more senior players. Another year older, legs just that little less able/willing.... Hope I'm wrong though and am committing the same error as other who have tread before me to state "you won't win anything with kids".
Ronan Curtis at Pompey rumours starting again. It looks like they want £2m. Can VT dig out some loose change? I know he's another lower division player but has the ability to go to a higher level.
