So the club are saving £75k a month, using a scheme that the other clubs in the division are using, and your point is that we have a billionaire owner? If it helps get the club sustainable and avoid falling foul of any FFP regulations then surely it's a good thing.

We have a team of professionals who have been specifically appointed to look after the money, not fling It around just because we can ...

... players contracts, agents fees and all other costs will, and should, be closely controlled.

The government take enough from football, no reason not to claw some back.

It just doesn’t sit right IMO. I’m not overly fussed just feel it’s a bit of a piss take, although I know we aren’t the only club/business taking advantage.

KLD topped their wages up to 100% so nobody lost out I think didn't he?

Must admit, I think if employers can afford to pay employees salaries then they should.

Not a complaint against KLD. More against the strange world we live in.

It's not the best from a moral perspective, but all clubs are doing it. The government is a laughing joke anyway, KLD topped up wages so no one missed out.

    Makes sense to do it.

Can anyone honestly say that if they were in the same situation, owning a company, they would personally fund the wages.

If I had billions in the bank. Yes. What's the point of money if it doesn't do anything.

Must be because I've got **** all that I simply don't understand hoarding more than one needs.

People don’t seem to realise that they are using our money anyway to pay their staff instead of their own money and people seem happy with this.<doh>

Of one the aims of this new regime is to make the club self sufficient, not just to keep throwing money at it as Short did. SAFC and KLD are two separate entities. We now, for the first time, have a team of backroom staff who have 'cost management' running through their veins. Just as with all accountants, from Amazon to Virgin, they're hot wired to justify their existence and look after every penny. I doubt KLD has even had much involvement in this or why employ people specifically to do that job.

Mike Ashley continually uses corrupt means to run his sportswear business ...

... While NUFC claimed over £100m in this ridiculous scheme.

Excuse me if I'm not outraged that Sunderland staff were paid and had their jobs protected.

Business sense I get it, but I personally don't like it, it's to help businesses who can't afford to keep the business going, and to keep people in jobs, I know a lot of people who only recently become self employed in construction and other industries had no help at all and had to live off universal credit last year,
So a billionaire owner getting help, who's got a family net worth of over 10 billion, doesn't sit right and was another big **** up by the government when the decided how it should be rolled out

Only problem is, they are clawing it back from the public purse.

It’s not the governments money, it’s the hard earnt money of the British tax payer.

Once that money js given to this government anything can happen to it including paying Hancocks tart ...

... I can think of worse things than helping local people keep their jobs.

Everyone benefitting have paid their taxes in the first place.
