Not bothered about tactics, mate. Only results.

Can you remember a time when England haven't been blessed with a good team? He's not the quality of Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes type of players. So he's working with less than what previous managers have had to work with and he's doing better, imo. We've usually got a team of old farts, he's brought through a lot of young players who can play and grow together as a team.

but we lost that game <laugh>

yeah, Gerrard, Lampard etc were exceptional. But that golden generation didn’t have the attack we have now.
It certainly had a better defence with Terry and Ferdinand.

Owen and Rooney were better then than what we've got striker wise now imo. Up until WC 2006 at least.

<ok>

I can't get my head around how negative people are about us. We are sitting on 4 points from 2 games without a goal conceded and posters on here seem to think for some reason that we are terrible. They don't support England, they just whinge about us all the time. I'd hope a lot of these would stay away from England games, they'd bring us nothing but negativity with their bleating on.

Some of the comments I'm seeing suggests that they're just spitting out things that have been associated with England for a long time even though it doesn't apply now. Southgate is the first manager in my lifetime that has ****ed the big names off and will play players in form, instead. Leeds and West Ham midfielders as our central partnership... That's always been a position filled by the big club players.

I disagree about the goalkeeper position. Pickford is average at club level but for whatever reason he excels at international level. I thought he has been solid up until now.

I've noticed it's the big club supporters that are making most of the noise. Their arrogance is something to behold. We know we've not got the best squad or players in the world but yet Southgates record is very good with what he's got, just not good enough for them. A world cup semi-final, 3rd in the nations league, and so far we are getting out of this group without breaking a sweat. However, we aren't destroying teams 5-0 every game with free flowing football so we are ****e and Southgate needs replaced.

What's the point in following a team (they don't definitely don't support) if you are just going to tell everybody how **** they're and almost take pleasure in being knocked out so they can tell everybody that they were right. I don't get it.
I don't get it either mate. It's so ****ing sad. But those are the ****s we've been dealt I guess.

I do think it's interesting that those who seem to be having the biggest complaints are those who regularly say they don't like international football.

That's not a dig btw, but maybe why certain people find it hard to offer their unconditional support.
If they could offer any sort of support it would be good.

I'd imagine if the team was full of Liverpool and Man Utd players then they'd be a lot more supportive.

I do wonder sometimes reading as a neutral, how much club loyalties affect people's perspective on players. The amount of stick I see Sterling get is unbelievable. He also has scored our only goal during the competition and didn't even get due respect for that.

I seriously started considering whether there was some unconcious racism going on here. Especially on Twitter. Kane fits the bill perfectly of a white man in an England shirt, no one would have credited a goal by him to Phillips.

I've lost count of the amount of times, I've said Son has been my favourite player at Spurs, yet another that rarely gets recognition.

Then I look again and @Treble is often the one on the Sterlings case, a Manchester United supporter no less. Oh what a surprise a Manchester United fans slagging off a City player.

For me it makes perfect sense for Sterling and Foden to be starting, personally I'd just chuck Kane in the bin, well pass his sell by date.

England, England, ra ra ra !!!

Is that supportive enough?

None of that helps the fact we've not played that well so far and look there for the taking against decent opposition of course. We'll see though, starting tomorrow.

Which I will be watching and hoping we win.

Sorry for having an opinion. On a football forum. Which are there so people can share opinions.

So come on own up, which one of you shhites has been claiming Chief is not supportive enough, let's being having yer, fookers!

I reckon it's @Libby - bloody troublemaker that guy.
