On another note I was surprised to see people's reaction in here to Foden going off? Think he was poor last night and wasn't great in the first match either. Said before the first match that this might be a tournament too soon for some of the young'uns.
of course he was poor, he wasn't getting any delivery, let alone we seemed to be scared of going down that side of the pitch, they kept playing it to Sterling. The only time Foden got the ball, was when he drifted over the other side. Fook knows what Southgate taught them in training.
I don't think he set up not to lose, I just put it down as one of them nights where we couldn't get going for whatever reason. It happens. Another good point though. Clean sheets are never a bad thing and we seem very good at keeping them.
Yeah because Sterling was constantly drifting back defending, while our two CB's Stones and Mings went walk about as if they were in the outback.
I'm not blaming Kane entirely but he doesn't suit the team and tactics. We need a quick mobile forward, not somebody with no pace who keeps running into trouble any time he is in possession. The guy looks lethargic.
Thought it was a lacklustre performance all round really and nobody (manager or players) came out with any credit bar maybe Pickford. Did the hype and occasion get to them a bit? Dunno but a couple definitely seemed nervous to me.
I've been trying to tell Spurs fans how shhite Kane is for years, even though they've not won any trophies with him in the team. They are now seeing it for their own eyes. Did Kane actually start yesterday, or did he just stroll on after a good ole cup of English tea.
We barely created a thing last night, and he played the full game with 2 holding midfield players. Kane got stick for not performing but he had no service, as we didn’t stretch the Scots enough, as we just knocked the ball around in front of them in a one paced borefest. That’s down to him.
They were knackered for some reason, I saw it in Sterling straight away. Only the players know what they've been up to, especially as they had a longer rest than Scotland. Dare I suggest maybe they had too long a break. It was hot against Croatia, but it was cool last night, so it makes no sense. Even Foden was lethargic compared to his first 20 mins in the previous game. All very odd.
I've not said he's blameless at all mate but the fact is that if those two early sitters go in as they should then we most likely go on to win. I've said before that I don't think he's a brilliant manager and clearly has his limitations, but I think we should wait to see where we end up before sticking the knife in. Honestly think it's embarrassing people calling for the bloke to be sacked mid tournament. If we end up going out in the quarters to a better side then that's about right for this team and this result in isolation is irrelevant.
Foden wasn't the best but at least he was running. He carried a bit of energy in his game. Not sure anyone else could say that. I saw Shaw sprint a couple of times other than that....
I think heads dropped quite early on they lost belief, which is extremely poor really. When we had a dire ten minutes after the Mount chance I knew it wasn't going to be the night and it looked like the players felt the same.
Good to see that there was no widespread trouble last night. The met must have been worried about the Friday 8pm ko.
Listen Q we’re not winning this thing unless we beat some Razzmatazz and judging from last nights game and the flat clueless football, I expect us to come a cropper soon was ok whilst it lasted though
This is the Kane you ****s will get and deserve after he leaves Spurs due to the media and rival fan campaign aimed at getting him out of my club shame
Reckon he’s just playing **** so that he can force a £49.99 move as he knows no **** is gonna give Levy £150m for him.
