I would much rather have a fit Lingard than grealish. I have said it before, Grealish is a busy looking player but does **** all other than turn one way or the other until he falls over.

I'd play Calvert-Lewin rather than Kane, for sure. And I'd play anyone, even Pickford, up front instead of Sturdland. ****bag,

I wonder which Liverpool player will be getting all the flak from the papers and social media for that bag of ****e? Oh, wait...

Like your players ever get blamed ya *****loid, Gerrard literally gave the ball to Suarez once to get us KO’d and the press still gunned for Rooney.

The media will be fapping relentlessly over Robertson for doing absolutely nothing.

Beckham jumping out of a tackle with Ronaldinho says hello.

We had some part in that tbf, let's not give them all the credit <laugh>

That was shocking tonight, right from the off. Scotland came at us, something that Croatia didn't do, Croatia let us ping it around at the back and then into midfield, Scotland were having none of it, they were bolted into our half, they were having none of the tippy tappy stuff, which we can't do very well anyway.

Foden didn't have the energy that he did in the first 20 mins against Croatia, but he never had the delivery either, but at least he went in search of the ball, after getting fed up of being starved of it. We insisted in coming down the nearside, but Sterling looked knackered, and constantly kept giving the ball away. I think the search party is still out for Kane, there was suggestion he was substituted but to be honest, I don't think he came out the dressing room, so it was 10 against 11.

Southgate will never go down as tactical genius, in fact he'd probably have trouble even flushing a bog but his substitutes were laughable if not embarrasssing.

Yep, you need a striker with good movement to create space and passing options. Spud supporters whinge that Kane is getting no service but don't understand that their team is built just to get the ball to him in or around the area, most teams are built to get A player in with a chance not just THE player.
Kane has to meet the team half way and at least move a bit.

You will have seen far better games with a higher level of skill in League One than this miserable excuse for an important game in a top tournament

I'd certainly have seen games where the home team had more passion, I saw none from England tonight. Scotland done us, I take nothing away from them. It was like watching Spurs get turned over by Hartlepool United.

Except Hartlepool would have taken one of their chances

I think it was clear the midfield wasn't working. He should've kept Rice and Mount but brought on Grealish. If he was going to take anyone off for Rashford, it should've been Sterling. That really should've been enough imo to change the game.

But sometimes it's more than just the subs, it's the approach to the game. We need a manager that allows the players to express themselves, play without fear, but that requires coaching them on a tactical plan where they pass the ball quickly. Not faster, just quicky, in other words one touch basics, even simple triangles ffs! A good manager at international level imo has his players know where they're passing before they receive the ball. You look at Italy and their players aren't spectacular but as a team they do exactly that and they look formidable and their football is an absolute delight to watch. Southgate is a spoofer who's out of his depth.

How much damage that's doing to the mentality and belief in the players I'd hate to guess but it becomes a habit after a while, bred into them. We'll finish second in the group, get Slovakia in the next round, beat them but at some point we'll come up against a decent side and our players will fold like a deck of cards.

He's turning into an English Benteke.

I gave Sterling all the credit against Croatia, this game he should have been the first substituted. He looked totally shagged and was getting outpaced. Like you say it was the only change needed.

That's Sterling four games out of five, in fairness.

Yup, but if Southgate had set us up to win tonight, players could have been rested, also we had a longer break than Scotland before tonight, so I have to ask the question, what have the players been up to?

I think Grealish for Philips as well in midfield, but yeh not much needed.
