Don’t think swallowing his tongue was a huge concern given they were doing cpr on him

They looked ok but I thought Turkey were poor. I don't see Italy going deep into this tournament, but this is based on the flimsiest of evidence....

Don't think theres been a player who's been able to make a comeback from this sort of collapse. If its a heart issue the doctors will be telling him to stop

I thought it was more Turkey were poor too but Italy still looked decent whichever way it was. I don't see them challenging but a bit like with ze germans, you can't write them off either.

I said when it happened - this was when it seemed like he might die bear in mind - that it's almost certainly the end of his career if he survives.

I'm intrigued to see what has gone on with him now which I suppose will be announced in time once they've done tests on him etc. If it was a heart problem, which certainly looks likely as you'd only really perform chest compressions if there was cardiac arrest, then he's done because every doctor will tell him not to play, no club will want him to play for them, and if I was him I probably wouldn't want to play again. It could be that the cardiac arrest was the result of something else of course, but to me it does look like arrhythmia / sudden cardiac arrest. He collapses just after performing a sprint into the box and had previously shown no signs of distress or disorientation so that supports that idea.

Anyway, wait and see I guess. Hopefully he can just get back to full health and enjoy the rest of his life, that's all that matters.

The main thing is he's thankfully alive. I highly doubt he'll play again.

Sterling and foden starting today it seems.

Not sure how sterling justifies his spot. Guessing that means no Grealish with rice mount Phillips in midfield.

    I think its 532.

    I think it will be

    Pickshite
    jame walker stones shaw chilwell
    Phillip's rice mount
    Kane sterling.

I hope not but I have this very bad feeling about southgate and cant enjoy this tournament waiting for the **** to **** it up.

It at least really should not, if they are going to be leaky now they will be worse in the knockouts.

Nobody should know but southgate as of now.

Well, youd expect that southgate might have to change if things do go wrong or at least playing the last 2 games

Saving Grealish for later in the game to take advantage of tired legs?

Picking a RB ahead of a natural LB in Shaw or Chilwell is criminal

Agreed. It's Southgate not being prepared to drop Trippier or Walker, it's why we got Trentgate too
