That is good news although there may be a lag due to the Bank Holiday. Will be very interesting to see what happens in 3 weeks time, with cases going up as they are.
I'm not pessimistic about it. Cases may going up but it's not killing people. Saying that I'm not an expert so who knows.
Not an expert, but you got it about right Ellers. I think they are waiting to see if there will be a concomitant rise in deaths with the delta variant (PC....ex Indian), which will take a bit more time about another 2 weeks. But as you have probably noticed the hospitalisations are not getting out of hand, so deaths should not either. Unfortunately there seems to be a new variant from Vietnam (oooops sorry...probably epsilon) which is a Kent (is that beta?)/Indian /delta cross, that they are worried about
Missed the start, but just watched the second half of the CH4 documentary about he Anti-Vax movement. It's led, of course, by people making a fortune out of selling useless alternative 'cures', but the levels of support for it are quite scary. Amongst the leaders is one Andrew Wakefield, famously struck off the medical register in the UK for his MMR autism fraud, but doing very nicely in the US. Not least in the fact that he's shacked up with Elle Macpherson.
I cannot put into words how much I hate and despise Andrew Wakefield. He is the absolute pit of hell in human form. ( Matt Hancock is an angel in comparison). He has used vunerable parents and children to his own game, he is now heading a truly evil movement. It seems for money and self glorification Last night's program showed antivaxers spraying modified swimming pool bleach into the throats of autistic children...and giving them enemas with the same magic solution to wash out the autism from the gut ( all based on a theory by Wakefield, which has no basis) It removed layers of the kids colons...which people kept in bottles to show on line..to prove they had washed out the evil autism caused by vaccination, I actually cried at the kids having this done to them.. vunerable autistic kids. I am in tears now.. That man is pure evil
I didn’t see the program but if that is what was/is happening to Children then he needs to be strung up. Idiot. I get why some people don’t want the vaccine and that is their choice. The selfish argument can also be debated. However they shouldn’t pray on the vulnerable.
What? I have been disgusted by the fact that Wakefield is walking around as a free man for so long now I’ve neglected to keep up with what he is actually doing. So we can add GBH to murder on the charge sheet against him, a con man who preys on the weak, desperate and ignorant.

Christina Pagel has been pointing out that countries with similar (or better) vaccine progress (Chile, Uruguay, Bahrain) are now seeing big surges. Don't know if they are directly comparable to us but shows things can get out of hand. We have quite a deal of freedom now already, maybe delaying the next stage isn't such a bad idea. If it's infecting younger people more now the thought of nightclubs opening is a bit of a worry. It was another government mistake giving us this 21st June date as everyone is totally fixated on it. The media still proving what ****s they are with all their 'Freedom Day' bullshit feeding the hysteria as well.
