The stats do not back that up. Even with 10 of our first 11 we were never on the 90 point level
We should be second though.
Man City won't get 90pts, they're currently on 83pts with a possible maximum of 86pts.
Both games been us and Man City took place after losing various players too; we drew and lost. If (big if) we won both those games, they'd only be on 79pts now.
Yes they are and what have their results been as they rotated and used their lead up to go for the cl?
Lots to leeds, brighton, chelsea, utd?
They have taken the foot off, and are not even near as good upfront as they used to be but are defensively solid.
But ok say they got 86. We were on 32 after 15. Same points rate = 81 and that's second as I said and it's certainly not us walking the league![]()
We would have taken more out of the games between us imo. That's less points for them and more for us.
All ifs, buts and excuses though isn't it. Can't change what's happened.
It did take a few too many games to get Fabinho back in midfield though.
Wasn't Alisson injured for a number of games as well?Games missed by LFC players in all competitions through injury 2020/21:
Diogo Jota – 21
Virgil Van Dijk - 45
Joe Gomez – 39
Joel Matip – 27
Jordan Henderson –17
James Milner - 13
Naby Keita - 23
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 20
Fabinho – 11
Thiago – 21

Kelleher and Adrian deffo played a number of games this season.I remember he was injured last season but can't remember this season? I could be wrong ... this season feels like it's lasted for an eternity!
Hindsight is always 20/20 but yeah, if only Klopp trusted Kabak / Phillips / Rhys more and move Fab back into midfield sooner. But I think at the time, Fabinho was doing a decent job so it made sense.
I'm just glad that Klopp did make the decision sooner rather than later. Over the last 10 games, Fab and Thiago formed an immense partnership in the midfield which provided more protection to the defence and gave Thiago and Trent a platform to create. We created a lot of chances over this period (at the expense of the defence) but it was a risk that paid off .
I'd turn it round and say this;
What ****wit decided to leave it to deadline day in Feb to get kabak and davies?
If one was gotten jan 1 this debate would be very different
Agreed. We should have had a defender in as soon as the window was opened. It felt like we were content with using Fab and Matip at the back, but once Matip was injured for rest of the season, then we had no choice. Very reactive decision making from our part.
yes but even at that matip's last game was the 28th jan. We had him out with groin injury v newcastle, then rushed back, we had him out 4 times prior to that in the season playing only 50% of the games.
to not buy on jan 1 was sackable and is still sackable imo.
Matip was suffering with a recurrent ankle injury and having to play more games than he would normally play was exacerbating the problem to theyes but even at that matip's last game was the 28th jan.
