I recently watched the first few episodes of The Irregulars.

The irregulars were the street kids that Sherlock Holmes called upon to get information to solve his cases. It's a bit weird, firstly because they're not just crimes, they're all supernatural crimes. Secondly, because you don't ever see Holmes (at least not in the first three episodes), you just see Watson, who's a black bloke who's permanently pissed off. And thirdly, because it's set in Victorian London, but 'the irregulars' all speak in very modern English. There's lots of 'piss of you ****er' type language.

I can't decide if I quite like it, or if it's just complete nonsense.

I tried that for about half an hour, I hated the dialogue and to be honest the actors seemed really amateurish, I’m not sure the phrase “ come on guys “ was used in those days. I may give it another go soon...

i recently read of something else that had the youngsters talking modern street talk but adults spoke correctly for the time.
so i passed on it.
too close to armstrong and millers raf pilot sketches.

Just starting “ Northern lights “ scratch that I’m an idiot,
It’s called “ Northern Rescue “ watched the first 2 episodes, wasn’t too bad, love the penguin lol

I'm now up to episode five and I won't be watching episode six, it got progressively worse the longer it went on.

Just watched The Terror after a recommendation on here thoroughly enjoyed it .I have also started to re-watch Curb your enthusiasm ,which is the funniest thing I have ever seen .If starting from episode 1 series 1 give it time to get the characters and the way it flows .
Their is a bit of improvisation thrown into a scripted series which does work .I only got into it due to every comedian I like naming it their favourite tv series ever .

Curbs great isn’t it

Just watched Page Eight, one of 3 spy films with Bill Nighy playing an old school MI5 man. There are 2 more in the series, hope they're as good as the first, Bill Nighy can do no wrong in my eyes.

Watched that the other night. Good film, really enjoyed it.. I noticed there were another two of his films on the list but didn’t realise they were a series. I’ll give them a look too
