Tbh I don't think mods should be altering posts, I know it's amusing for them but it's pretty childish. Personally I prefer to take the rough with the smooth and if mags are on here taking the piss that's football. What goes around comes around.
Probably easy for me to say with not being from the area and not having to put up with it at work etc.
Mods have an impossible task but both sides to any argument / discussion should be heard before acting. I am taking nobodies side as I can see valid points from almost every poster on here and although some seem to be very negative they have made some good observations and should be allowed to voice them no matter how much the positive members appear to get agitated by them. I may be wrong but because a poster is critical of the club / player / manager etc it does not mean they would wish any harm or ill feeling towards another posters personal matter ( Smugs move from France )
They might even have put their football politics to one side and came on here to wish Smug all the best with his move, if they didnt and used his thread as a means of having a dig then by all means deal with it then. Everybody on here has been affected in one way or another by this poxy pandemic and nobody can predict what is around the corner but Genuine Human emotions and personal matters largely are dealt with in a dignified manner on here from what I have witnessed since I joined up last summer. Not everybody agrees on football matters but when it comes down to peoples livelihoods and health people are largely understanding and very supportive.

good post, basically sums it all up for me, not a lot to add really.
all i will say is that forums are all about peoples opinions and we will never all agree*, as long as things do not get personal or threatening then i feel we are all big enough and daft enough to handle it.
*only have to read any match thread and 'player 'A' was ****e' followed by 'thought player 'A' was our best player on the pitch' which is usually followed by 'player 'A' started well but faded out 2nd half' ... etc, we all see things differently.
nice words however your biased and only protecting your mate, the board descending into chaos is down to you not getting a grip as its your mate smug starting it yet again, he picked on me for answering RTBs question ref PREHAB telling him he is too harsh with posters, these were his own words yet he blew a gasket with me, which went over 3 threads yet you never stepped in to keep the peace ,that was the time a mod with balls should have stepped in , not having posters trying to keep the peace.
what mod has right to be so snidey and ban people without even warning them that they are banned from a thread , you had no right to do that , they did nothing wrong
Do you deny your Smugs mate and have been on holidays with him, and you protect him on here from the regular spats he has with posters, altering threads and that you ban them to make them go away for him.
You say this is a witch hunt to boost someone's ego YOU KNOW YOUR LYING i have been on this board since its conception, never been banned or had posters banned, and had very few spats and never hit the report button compared to the many Smug has had ,also he has been banned from other boards besides this one, I have no problem with him as a poster, The only problem he has is blowing a gasket when he can't bully a poster or win an argument he has to get you to do the dirty work for him, in fact he even tried to get Vinegar Joe banned, There was a reason so many posters left this board to go to Cyprus Syds new site and it wasnt me
You say you were hasty, LIAR you were cold calm and calculated, i went back in posts and find anything incriminating has been removed by you, to try and stop people proving you wrong you edit post regularly to cover your own weasley backs, at least now you have admitted to it but the reasoning for it is bullshit and you know it,
however he still had a dig at me yesterday and you still alterposts to hide the truth, and it was me who tried to keep the peace instead of you doing your job and letting it get to thatQuite frankly, Ozzymac, part of my reasoning was because Smug suggested that he wasn't going to be posting for a while, therefore he wouldn't be around to defend himself from the inevitable abuse/derailing that almost certainly would have ensued

Moderation of a forum is basically deleting/editing posts when they cross a certain line and then warning/taking action against the poster. Not preemptive censorship.

mate i have been here a long time and know how many have left the board because of smug, how many were banned by Gordon on his take over threaded or left and i was never involved , i stick up for myself smug picks on me that's why the thread descended to **** because PREHAB told him he was being harsh RTB ask why and i pasted Smugs own words he went off it like a petulant child.
