I think it’s funny that the other day when smug didn’t post on here, there wasn’t one single argument <laugh> It’s almost like it’s him who’s causing them <doh>
And yet, when he didn’t post on the match day thread, it was derailed faster than a speeding train hitting the end if the line!
Swings/roundabouts.

For the record, Gordon and myself discuss things like this in PM. Always looking for each other’s opinions. If he hadn’t banned then I would have, simple as that. And Gordon is the only person I have PM’d on here in ages so Smug had zero input.

What’s wrong with an argument? It’s a discussion board, and people won’t always get along.

If it descends into bickering, so what. It can be amusing and at worse it’s easy to ignore.

Whats also amusing is your little gang that are driving smug away from the board. He may go against the grain or be controversial at times, but he’s a diehard supporter, who would help another supporter in anyway way he could.

Ive had arguments with him in the past, but also appreciate the positivity he speaks about Sunderland fc.

Someone like yourself feeds off misery, like you do with the team, like you are doing now.

I find it funny that in the little bits of discussion about who is being deliberately disruptive it isn't Smug's name coming up. It's almost like it's someone else who's causing it.

I guess the concern is that they were prohibited from contributing before they'd even posted anything in this instance Marcus. Why that thread in particular yet they were/are still free to post in others?

I've no doubt that some posters on matchday threads are deliberately attempting to derail by putting the most ridiculously negative comments they can. I'd be surprised if they were actually fans of the club. RTB does an amazing job on the threads and to be even contemplating stopping because of a couple of knobheads is shocking. Been on here for 10 years and never seen such negative drivel until now. Mods do a good job. I wouldn't want to do it. No one expects all Sunderland fans to be mates in real life but some of the hissy fits on here man. Not sure what my point was now.

I'd like to just start this by saying that I think that Gordon and Marcus do an excellent job as mods on here.

This isn't the first time that complaints have been made about those that disagree with Smug being silenced, so I think that is something that people are aware of. In this instance though, I think pre-emptive action was perhaps justified as the Brexit/leaving France thread wasn't the place for petty feuds to be played out (a bit like Tees' personal thread that was derailed a week or two back). Its nice that there can be personal threads like that on this board. In those circumstances, if you have nothing positive to say to or about the OP, its probably best to say nothing at all.

There are all sorts of people in this world. It must be possible to be a massive lads fan and a miserable ****er at the same time - I am sometimes. And shouting at someone to cheer up and not be negative is hardly a prodictive strategy.

I must be a mega laid back bloke I don’t see any problem with any of the s hite they write just goes straight over my head certainly not enough to get the s hit ripped out of them by Smug or anybody else, is that not what the ignore button is for not that I’ve ever used it, looking back maybe I should have.
Bit like that myself mate tend to comment on stuff I agree with and am interested in and just don't pay much attention to the doom and gloom merchants, had loads of conversations with decent people on here that don't always agree with the way I see things, but happy to respect that, at times some people need to realise opinions aren't facts they are opinions.
There are loads of comments put on that imo are just plain ****ing stupid, but I don't respond for the simple fact there is no way these people would listen to things from a different point of view so it would just turn in to a slanging match for which I'm not interested in

Quite frankly, Ozzymac, part of my reasoning was because Smug suggested that he wasn't going to be posting for a while, therefore he wouldn't be around to defend himself from the inevitable abuse/derailing that almost certainly would have ensued :emoticon-0148-yes:
Cheers GA, appreciate your honesty :emoticon-0148-yes:

I get that. The majority last night were angry and disappointed with the game. I'm still in a bad mood this morning. I cant look at the table.
However, a couple of people put really negative posts before and just after the Oxford and Peterborough goals. You'd have thought it was the last minute of the last match of the season. To me, in my opinion, they are on the wind up and looking for responses. This in turn starts to derail the amazing matchday threads that we are lucky to have.

What other threads you been banned from there and what did you say? Sounds intriguing.:bandit:

I had a pop on the Mags Embarrassing Themselves thread and someone altered the post. When I had a sweary pop about that my " privileges " were removed. I can't remember the other couple of threads to be honest, seem to think it was down to rants about post altering again.
