There was a line in an article saying that Methven had been doing work for the company that Davison previously worked for.

yeh that’s how Davison and CM knew each other. Apparently then CM introduced KLD to Davison. But not sure how KLD got involved with Sunderland or CM in first place. Not seen any indication that Methven brought him to the table.
