Seen this on Facebook (apologies if it's someone on here who's page it is) but I thought it would be an interesting discussion.

You can only pick 3 strikers from below

Do you mean our favourites, the best three, or to play together ?

How about pick three to play together - think it would make it more interesting (and harder! <laugh>)

No doubt for me, then . . . . Sir Niall and SKP upfront, and Lord Rowell behind them :emoticon-0105-wink:

    Phillips, Shack and Rowell.

Edit: With Clough as manager :emoticon-0103-cool:

Never saw 2 of them play but going off what people's said about them, for me it would be Clough, with Rowell and Shack behind him. With a second choice of SKP, Quinny and Gabbers

    Defoe, Rowell, Quinn ...

... not in that order and for reasons that are complicated, private and wonderful.

    What memories.

I'd have Adam Johnson ahead of Kenwyne Jones all day long.

Reckon Quinn & Gatesy would’ve made a superb partnership.

I couldn't get a ticket for the Gary Rowell game at SJP but accepted a home season ticket from a Mag relative.

I told myself to keep quiet no matter what happened, then told myself again.

As soon as Rowell scored his first I was out of my seat and screaming. The other gentlemen around me were less than impressed and asked if I'd like to reconsider my allegiance and birth right ... I declined. When the second Sunderland goal went in I was surrounded by people who asked if I'd consider my position within the ground. Once again I asserted my comfort with my position and the current score.

By the time we were 4-1 up it was basically me versus the entire season ticket section.

I felt that, at this point, the best form of defence was attack and approached the biggest mouth facing me. I proposed the idea that it was 'just a game of football between neighbours' at which he suggested I was a 'Mackem Bastard'.

Despite not being any kind of Mackem I caught him with a punch that would've taken the top off a castle wall ....

... as I walked out not one other Mag chose to call me a Mackem bastard.

That remains one of the most important memories when I was in the lions den completely alone.

Never saw BOBBY GURNEY play, but my uncles were always on about him AND he is our record goalscorer.

And as we are asked to pick three from a colection of Strikers, SHACK is a must on the basis of his unbelievable versatility.
And as well as his own contribution he could provide enough chances for the other two, specialy as my third choice would be the most lethal striker SAFC has ever had,

    BRIAN CLOUGH

Gurney in the middle, with Rowell & Shack.

Tho would rather have Charlie Buchan & Raich Carter.

I can proudly say that I saw Brett Angel score for Sunderland that was harshly ruled out. Had a few at the moment so memory ain't great but I'm sure it was at Barnsley
