5m has already been delivered but they , rightly , are now concentrating on poor countries . All this has done is slow the it from its present trajectory but it is still on track for the original schedule . Part of the slack was also due to one batch of 1.7m needing retesting but haven't heard anything further about that .
Well we will learn more tomorrow on the EU stance on vaccine exports .

Reports are that 27 million doses of az for the uk have been "found" in Italy. Apparently whatever rule was sent out at the time this is held at the manufacturer.

They cannot be used in eu as the plant is also not registered

Its most likely a site inspection or audit. I think these have a much longer lead time than we think. Its <6 months though.

however it doesn't tell us what form the thing is in. If its in vials or not etc.

Yeah but 29 Million, I know they are only tiny bottles, but yer know, it's not like just losing the remote control or your phone.

Edit: just read your last bit...maybe they thought they were brewing Moretti.

Accroding to the BBC it was a "raid" now I have to say this all falls into the same propagandist type stuff that is out there. Raids v audits are two very big differences.

Apparently the doses are there but the EU commission asked for some italian organsiation to verify that they were actually there. So AZ have lost nothing i assume.

the further statement in it was that all the batches were bound for Beligum.

this is actually odd as AZ is meant to be making in beligum and and netherlands and then packaging in italy/germany, In the end not all the details are clear.

We were only discussing/ getting shouted at/insulted as per here about the sources of AZ and it seems for us they come from the two Uk plants and india.

I would assume the italians are fighting the belgians here and the uk tag has been added. I presume the beligans shipped out batches to be pakcaged and were getting them all back just cos they can ;) every man for themsevles and all that. the european project

If there was 27mil AZ for the UK I'm sure boris would have been shouting about it.

    well according the report

The Italian authorities found the vaccines in a site visit, European Union officials said, at a factory near Rome that is contracted to fill and finish Covid-19 vaccine vials for AstraZeneca

so presumably at least a big proportion is already in the vials .

I'll be honest, I didnt understand quite a bit of that. A bit yo technical, I dont really pay a great deal of attention any more.

I know they all didn't cone about in the same 30 days, I just found it odd that once one was announced, it seemed a new one was announced every few days. This is all very much perception, I havnt actually checked.

Then again, I've found some of the tinfoil hat pregade quite persuasive on this, it's certainly been fun listening to them.

The continued flag waving with az continues.

I've heard several people say az are supplying at cost so why would it be favouring uk over eu.

Az is only supplying developing countries at cost.

because the UK Govt helped fund the Oxford research , helped with setting up the supply chain i.e. the Wrexham plant and signed an early binding contract with AZ that the UK production would first be used here .
The EU did none of those things .

Oh and originally Oxford was going to collaborate with a US company but the Govt steered them away from that and towards AZ over fears of US protectionism <insert irony emoji >

exactly, all purely logical and legal giving the EU no place to go.

I don't know why we need to see flag waving and patriotic nonsense to justify a legal contract. I fail to see why the great unwashed need to be pumped up with this sort of stuff and untruths when the turth is more simple and more iron clad.

AZ need to justify to the EU why the plant in the EU isn't even registered to supply the EU that is about it IMO.
