The one table tennis player everybody knew of back in the day. Another who was bigger than the sport.
Former assistant trainer to Martin Pipe for many years,knowledgeable horseman RIP.
Often used to meet a mate for lunch at Mustafa’s on Fridays, when I had an office in the city centre and usually ended up in there all afternoon. Often went for a bite before City night games as well, always a friendly welcome, always a good meal.

Unfortunately not as many games were filmed back then and probably his best goal was not recorded. He jumped up and with a sort of jack knife motion struck the ball in midair with both feet.
I wasn't there, I was back in Hull watching City but people I know who were there were awestruck. There were two I worked with, not Leeds fans, one was a Charlton fan the other a Chelsea one and they were full of it on the Monday back at work.
As a young 10 year old winger with an almost Wilks like desire to cut inside and selfishly try to score every time, Peter Lorimer was a hero and somewhat of a role model for me (regardless of who he played for).

Revie was notorious for pulling players out of squads for injuries that cleared up in time for the next Leeds game. It had a knock on effect.
