There go the angels again, switching the attention from LJ to the players, never LJ is it, oh and the new one 'Magical Dust' <wizard><laugh><laugh><laugh><magic>
You're the one that harks on about 65 terrible signings and 4 dreadful years moving up a couple of places.......forgetting the fact, that manager did well to keep us where we are.......the future we have now, I doubt would have been possible in league 1.........just saying!! :emoticon-0172-mooni

I threw out a list of players out of contract players, 11 players in total and I would only keep Walsh and Wiemann because I suspect NP will realise he is not a midfielder.

But of course we will see when NP makes the decision.

PS:- So basically a coach who ran out of ideas of how get consistency from a 'decent' squad?
Along with being unable for whatever reason to sign the players I mentioned...........
So you are saying, that the main structure of the squad are a decent standard? But forgetting that you moaned about most of them, not that long ago!!!

You really are digging a hole, I have never said that he made 65 terrible signings ,we did average just over 1 place progress a year, 5 progressive places in 4.5 years, he was finacially backed to the hilt, if he couldn't hang on to 1 of 24 places in the championship with all of that backing for just 4 years it would have been criminal, his 5th year he got the boot for failure, next bleat or a sprinkle of the magic.<whistle>

mmmm I thought the club made money with the sales,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,of our best players!!!
By right, with the decent players we have....and a few additions next season, we should be flying!!

Well if I am saying that 9 out of 11 out of contract players should be allowed to go, I would say no wouldn't you? and 5 of them started on Saturday.

Players like Moore, ODowda have to prove consistency. DaSilva has to prove his fitness. And players like Pring at 23 years old and Nurse at 21 years old need to show that they are ready to step up ala Vyner and Towler and Massengo needs to be protected in the way that Pearson has already done so for him and Towler.

Whether they're in contract or not, if NP feels we have weaknesses it would be his job to shift them on, be it sell them off or pack them out on loan.
IMO (I know not yours) but Pato I would keep.
Fammy can go, but need to replace
Hunt & Rowe i'm not a massive fan of, either extra coaching required or ship out, the rest I believe NP can use along side a few additions..

Extra coaching? they are both 30 and over mate, I think that particular boat has sailed.

Never too old to learn Jiffie............sometimes footballers just need a arm around for encouragement.......if it fails...ship them out...

Rowe is a good pro but was let down by the failure to sign a back up left back for DaSilva, now too old IMHO.

I don't think extra training would have any effect on Hunt, he is a liability defensively, he is the worst defender at the club for blocking crosses and he is out of contract, thanks but perhaps LJ will take him and Paterson off of our hands.

100% agree, he was brought in as a backup, and in that capacity, he did well. As you say, he was let down/found out when he was forced to play 90 mins game after game as he isn't good enough to do that.

And sadly it was a mistake that started at the beginning of last season with DaSilva's first injury and was not addressed at the start of this season, when it was already known DaSilva was injured, it was a mistake made even worse by allowing Cameron Pring to go out on loan and of course culminating with Rowe who was already struggling as a left back getting injured, Pring being recalled already injured and playing the right footed Mariappa at left back with disastrous consequences and then too make an amateurish situation even worse with no specialist or even part time left back on the books failing to sign one in the January window.

I said amateurish but in hindsight I cannot imagine Mangotsfield being that stupid.

Let me get this right..:emoticon-0105-wink:
We win 3 games over the last few weeks......3-1 v Boro & Swansea and 3-0 v Brum..........this is down to either dead cat bounce or the NP magic dust, some would say!! :emoticon-0103-cool:
But when we lose games, it's down to the dreadful players brought in by LJ, even though he's been gone nearly a year?

Are the players we have in the squad capable or not? :emoticon-0103-cool:
Asking for a friend !!
Prefer an honest answer rather than the usual blah blah blah!! <cheers>

Brilliant response! Let's see what the LJ obsessors have to say about this...... Wiz, RP, over to you, I'm genuinely excited to see your response!

Said from day 1 about the dead cat bounce.
Now that's history and Pearson left with the sh*t squad from LJ's '65'.

mmmm Predictable comments once again <laugh><laugh><laugh> Let's hope the manager everyone desired is up to the task!!! :emoticon-0103-cool:
Had we won most games, your shouts would have been, how so much better the new coach is managing the squad............boring :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Is that the squad that never lost this many games in a season in the last 3 years. Maybe one day you will see and acknowledge how good a job LJ did RP.

He did a good job, but this squad is wholly inconsistent and always has been and always will be. Holden added more inconsistency to that inconsistent squad.

I would say Hunt and Watkins are finished neither in the squad today, And probably so are Diedhiou, Mariappa, Sessegnon and maybe even Nagy is as well.

I liken our position at the moment to the one that GJ took over. The whole place is in need of a shake up, some of these players have had it far too easy.
