A single dose of either vaccine currently available in the U.K. reduces your chances of hospitalisation with coronavirus by 80%, when the initial dose is administered and tracked under lockdown conditions.

Missed all the budget stuff because I was cleaning the car which had been parked for a few days under a tree and was consequently covered with sap and pigeon ****, and then on to get my jab. A productive afternoon. I had a look on the politics thread to see what the verdict is, but there are no comments on it, just stuff on celebrity paedophiles, the royal family and a fat Scottish sex offender. Odd. Just have to look on thirty different websites for news sources of various political shades to triangulate some kind of consensus perspective.

Had the jab at Stoneleigh Agricultural Centre. Very well organised, friendly, not busy but they reckoned they are doing a thousand a day this week and will be doing two thousand next week as second jabs become due. Nice work all involved.

Had my jab this aft at leeds Utd ground. Very impressed with how it ran, very efficient. The army were the main man power and it was a superb set up.

Welcome to our world, Australia. In Canada, we have had interference getting vaccines from the EU since January although not the AZ - we only just approved that for use here recently

Maple I read an article about that. EU muppets. I had the pleasure of listening to one of their propaganda spokespeople tonight. <yikes> They won't take any blame for the vaccine cock up and now they are running around like rats trying to secure what they can for each country. As I type, delegates from Denmark and Austria are in Israel trying to sort 'research and production centres to keep up with vaccine demand'. Hungrey is going to use Russian and Chinese vaccine and The Czech Republic could also join the club. Remember the 'united EU'? <doh>
First idiots like Macron 'dis' the Astra vaccine, In the most vaccine sceptical country? Then Heir Merkle starts believing him ffs. Both have now U-turned leaving the EU struggling to vaccinate people and adding to unnecessary deaths. Hopefully CANZUK will happen and we can deal with sensible people.

Was due to have my vaccine today, but had a call yesterday that they weren’t sure of a ‘due delivery’ so have been re-scheduled for Saturday. Was all efficiently handled to be fair with a phone call - so can’t complain.

Interesting news on Germany and citizens not taking the vaccine. France and Germany’s politicians have a lot to answer for putting down the AZ vaccine for over-65s and causing doubt in all age groups about having a vaccine. Now they have to try and get everyone to accept the vaccine. Crazy!

It’s ok, I’m sure the U.K. which has tens of millions of doses more than it needs will send some to the colonies. If you ask nicely, cap in hand.

The vaccine numbers have dropped a lot this week, might be supply issues across the board. Hopefully just a short term thing, I think a period of relative shortage was predicted by both AZ and definitely by Pfizer. We have to start hitting record numbers soon especially in second jabs. My mum had hers yesterday, thankfully.

The French and German politicians should really have shut their mouths on the vaccine stuff. Going strictly by the book their regulators were right, there is insufficient trial evidence in the elderly to say the AZ jab works for them, it’s only in the last week that real world evidence shows that it does. We took a punt on it working, without really fessing up to the public that it was a punt, and got away with it, which is great. Apparently lots of healthcare professionals, including doctors, in both countries have declined an AZ jab.

Do you think you might have had the virus some time in the past? Apparently a stronger reaction to the jab is a sign of this - good news is that it shows it is kicking in properly.

I have had no side effects at all from the jab on Wednesday, ran 5km first thing yesterday morning. Had my two days off drink so will return to normal Friday night conditions later.

I honestly dont know if I've had the virus before mate. If I have then I certainly wasnt unwell but your first paragraph was interesting. It really has quite floored me. Went back to work today but had to leave at 11am, shaky and very achy.
