Got made redundant in October and been signing on since then - Thankfully in the process of starting my own business in April so all systems go - Getting good help from the Business innovation centre in Sunderland.

Feeling positive in the first time in months.

Good luck mate

As @Confucius says it's good to advertise as there are posters worldwide on here ...

... if it's easier you can always message people.

Good luck to all those left in the ****e due to covid. I was dumped in it too, self employed but not for a long enough time to qualify for grants etc... I was and still am the only earner in our house. So we spent about 7 months not paying many bills, 6 month mortgage holiday, relying on jobseekers and relying on handouts for food.

Got a job in the end (october time) only agency work and not particularly something that I want to do but I'm not ashamed to say my voice was breaking with the sense of relief at be told I got it. It came just as mortgage had been unpaid for a month (holiday had stopped).

Still trying to catch up on the mortgage and the agency work is ending in the next few weeks will be permanent roles to apply for with them i feel I have done enough to stand out when I apply. Also applied for a job closer to what I was doing self employed which I think I may have a chance with and a role that is my dream job at the moment but less chance of that.

It's hard times but hopefully we will all get through it with our health and happiness intact.

Good luck mate, heart goes out to you, and anyone else in your boat. Hope it works out for you.

Best of luck with the new venture mate. I'm also starting a new business in the next 3 months, and have looked at premises at the BIC.
