    Match Preview;
This Wednesday we welcome the division's joint top form side to the Kiyan Prince...Barnsley have won their last five, after drawing two. They last lost to Watford on the 19th of January. Amongst this league run, there was also a victory of league leaders Norwich in the cup. Their top scorer is Cauley Woodrow
with 10 league goals so far this year. In Valérien Ismaël they seem to have a good, young manager, who has had a lot of experience across Europe.

After a decent run, we have now lost our last game, and we drew the game before that. This leaves us 17th, and barring any miracle/disastrous run, heading toward an uneventful end to the season. Can't argue with that. Given the constraints we are under, realistically we were never going to do much more this year.

    Team news
QPR: Luke Amos and Charlie Owens are sidelined with long-term knee injuries. Jordy de Wijs is edging closer to full fitness.

Barnsley: Conor Chaplin, Carlton Morris and Daryl Dike will be looking to push for returns this evening.

    Pre-match talk
QPR manager Mark Warburton: "Tonight will be another tough game for us. To ensure we get the result we want we have to do both sides of the game well, against a very good side.”

Barnsley manager Valerin Ismael: “QPR is a big opponent and we know it is going to be another tough game for us. When we played them at Oakwell they lost a man in the first half so it is not going to be this simple, we have to remain focused in London.”

Can’t we have a break from playing teams beginning with ‘B’?

    Cheers Dave.

My impression is that we seem to have high scoring games with them and lose too often!

Not a side to be under estimated, they're on a run of 5 consecutive wins and are within 1 point of the play offs...... done really well on a similar budget to us......

Could be one of those games that we have to grind out a win, but a point wouldn't be the worst result....

i think we owe them one. High scoring games where we have ended up with 10 men. time to put things right, 11 finish the game, and we score more than them.

Good shout. Didn't realise he'd passed away last year. Very sad.

It will be interesting to see which team MW will select for Wedesday's match. It seem that that there will be some changes.

    https://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-mark-warburton-qpr-changes-needed-020321

Mark Warburton says QPR fans must understand the need to make changes to the team in light of the packed fixture schedule.

It comes after some criticism on social media of the manager’s decision to leave out Ilias Chair for the defeat against Birmingham on Saturday.

Warburton taking off Charlie Austin and regularly substituting Chair has also attracted some criticism in recent weeks.

Warburton said: “It’s important to get the message across because supporters will naturally say ‘Keep him on. Why aren’t you playing him? Why isn’t he on for 90 minutes’? It’s because he can’t. We’ll lose them (to injury).

“I was delighted to get even a half out of Charlie on Saturday. It was touch-and-go whether he could even play. Likewise Stefan Johansen. Likewise Geoff Cameron.

“I looked after Lee Wallace because of the amount of miles he’d done and I wanted to make sure he was available for us.

“We really have to look after the players. We’re privy to information the supporters are not.

I guess we do not have acess to the data to make an objective assessment. However, in defence of MW, I guess that compared to many other teams, we do seem to have performed relatively well with regard to our number of long term injuries. However, it may have cost us 3 points last Saturday.

Perhaps on Saturday we made the wrong substition tactics? Perhaps we should have brought on more defensive players and quite simply "parked the bus". It may not have been attractive or well received, but it may have succesfully delivered a 0-1 away victory?

Was just about to ask the same. It's not the main match but whether it's red button I'm not sure.
