Don't see elder as a leader. Cracking wingback but bottles it when the tide turns.

Maybe I've been spoit. Coyle looks solid defensively but otherwise average and was very poor vs Donny.

    Burke gets rattled too.

None of them are bad players, but steady heads? Not so sure.

... And Lincoln obvs have a better manager.

Apart from Magennis and Smallwood, how many of the aforementioned have a promotion on their CV?

    Management included....?

Wouldn't mind betting that Dawson in the u23's has as many as the entire first team setup.

There's entirely the talent in this squad to piss this league. Where's the mentality?

Weak chairman, weak manager more interested in ego than success. Neither will sign players capabe of challenging them cos they can't deal with the threat to their pithy little ego's.

Put Greaves or Burke next to a Curtis Davies, Wayne Brown or Justin Whittle and you'd see them shine.

Bobby Robson used to say 'I want a captain in defence, a Captain in Midfield, and a captain in my forward line.

Clough used to say,' if I have a solid spine, then I can chop and change around it and we'll win anyway'.

City are being led by a blind man thinking more about his next Ferrari than about the club itself.

That's the problem. Anyone potentially incoming to the first team with more football success/experience than the board or manager will be shunned.

Leadership is the problem at City and that starts in the ****ing boardroom.

I mean. Cliff ****ing Byrne as the second most influential coach. A dickhead who wears shorts in a blizzard.

    Having a laugh?

I know we've been talking about experience, but those 3 are simply too old now. CD might just about manage it, but not the other 2.
    Fair points otherwise.

Anyone think he’s lost the dressing room? KLP playing ****, Honeyman who was knackered, looking to the bench for a sub & then having an “injury” on Saturday, then starting on Tuesday, having one of his worst games. We’re probably safe from relegation, but the players might want a change?
Or are they all just knackered?

Might even get up this season via POs. They pick some great managers.

Is this the same team that’s been struggling in the Championship or L1 for the last 20 years. I think you both need to lay off the sauce.

I think you might have misunderstood the point, or maybe I have... Maguire learnt under `Dawson, I think he's saying we have no one with the on field nous to teach the younger players.. teach them to niggle, get at the opponent. ankle taps etc...

No thanks, I've had enough of our current Irish coach, don't want another one spouting the supposed 'gift of the gab'!

I just had a thought, if last season we had sacked McCann and brought in the famous Spanish Manager,
Senor Viagra, that would have probably kept us up.

Weren't Barnsley in the prem 20 year ago?
I wouldn't be surprised to see Barnsley make the Play offs. Stranger things have happened. Might not win them, but could make 5th or 6th.
Currently lying 8th in the table. One point behind Cardiff in 6th with a game in hand. Three pts behind Reading in 5th with a game in hand.

We could be in Barnsley's position, with a decent owner, decent manager and decent squad, had the Allams sold to Chien Lee.
