Our club (Castle Eden) is/was in a pretty healthy position financially. Our fees were due to be paid last month so I don't know how that's gone regarding late payments. What has saved a lot of clubs is furlough as a lot of places are just working with a skeleton staff
I’m pretty sure CEGC have had a lot of renewals, the waiting list has only gone down around 20 places.
Not too worried about missing the golf atm as the weather is ****e. I reckon once the vaccine kicks in they should be open mid March?

What happened to crumble bungle (lad who started the thread)? Are you still on here under different user name?

My club has said we'll get credits on our monthly subs if the lockdown on clubs stretches beyond end of Feb. They're doing a complete rebuild of the clubhouse and lots of work irrigating the course to make it far better, so I'm much rather they had the money to get it sorted.

Ideally back playing mid-March onwards, and full revamp done from May for summer golf and early evening beers...or even some early am beers. Love teeing off at 6am and finishing up by 8:30. Quick pint, home and a days graft at the laptop....only a few months away

Used to golf as a kid when dad was alive as he and my grandad both loved golf.

Grandad even has a room named after him at backworth club The Captains room.

Never played since he died got given a set of clubs (probably too small for me) wouldn't mind getting back into it.

You should mate, but don't think its a nice easy and relaxing...i've never done any sport that makes me want to go on a shooting spree so much...that said, never done anything thats given me so many laughs at the same time...i'm literally ready to go play now, more of the same :)

It's relaxing when you draw a picture of your ex on it and tee off on a par 5 :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Watching a bit of the Scandinavian Mixed tournament, not bad at all. Mainly dominated by men but Alice Hewson finished a couple of shots off the leader.

Golf is one of the few sports if not the only one that I enjoy watching the women's game almost as much as the men's and I'd be up for more of these mixed tournaments in the future. Just a case of finding the right balance so the winners are 50/50 split between both genders. Or should I say all genders.

Great day at Castle Eden today with @farnboromackem! Good craic with the occasional bit of decent golf thrown in.
Told me he’d only played three times in three years. I’m glad we weren’t playing for money.
