They are doing exactly that along with currently building very impressive training facilities..... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Their fans are very excited by it all unsurprisingly
I'm sure they are excited mate ... ... just saying the gate size obsession seems to be from Newcastle above all other clubs.
Is that extension just on one stand or all the way round? It looks great but it also looks bloody expensive if it's just the one stand.
I didnt know about Leicester's plans so they have been relatively low key. Newcastle fans would be shouting about it from their crumbling rooftops.
Not really a surprise, we both cling to it as we both have very little else. They get the bigger crowds so crow about it more. It's the one thing both of us can be proud of when neither of us have much else. I'm sure if Leicester were getting 45000+ despite being average prior to their recent successes they'd be telling everyone about it.
In the voice of Crocodile Dundee, that's not an extension, this is an extension... Been delayed like but it's a canny video.
In the Premier League, 48000 every home game would still have us as one of the best supported teams in the country. We've seen how **** it looks with a half empty ground, so I totally agree mate keep it the way it is , no point having a ground you can only fill if barcelona or real madrid are in town and look half empty even when your getting 40k+ in the Premier League
And under Reidy in particular it was ****ing bouncing when we were playing well. Get the ticket price point sorted, food, drink, fanzone, and a few other things fixed and our match day income could exceed what others with similar crowd sizes would get.
How big is our potential fanbase in the North East if we become successful? Are there areas that are split with Newcastle that we could get back?
If things are right on the pitch and somehow we manage to do what Leicester have done and sustain it. We would defo fill 66,000 playing top teams every week and challenging for trophies. There are a few club in the country that could do that, however I believe we are one of them the knars
Think kids are very fickle and would support any team that is doing good, it’s the Durham area that would be affected if we had a minimum of success
Digressing slightly, but I watched the Chelsea game earlier and apparently Luton came out after half time around 5 mins late because the clock in the changing room at the Chelsea spa health center place where they had to be was incorrect. Now, we can all have shiney new stadiums and academy's and stuff but for a premier league team live on tv that seems very amature to me. That was one of the things that I was impressed with when Johnson came in when he pointed that out about replacing the batteries in some of our clocks that were broken. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is a bit more to it than saying "my stadium is bigger than your stadium"
