Actually, thinking about it, both places are like pubs. I always liken message boards to pubs because when I didn't live in Sunderland it was the nearest I had. You'd come in, chat to people about Sunderland, football, life in general, you wouldn't all know each other but you had something in common and, over time, you'd feel like you knew them.

This place is more like a local. Can be a bit quiet at times, largely the same regulars, but they're all good crack, it's quite relaxing after a day at work, and if any jumped up little twat comes in acting themselves they won't last long. SMB more like a city centre pub on a weekend. Still a lot of people you recognise, can still have good crack, but it's faster paced, a bit louder and there's always some pissed and coked up dick heads who the staff don't deal with as quickly as you'd like. Most people would be happy having the chance to pop into both!

Superb!

Aye, there's definitely a place for both. I always stay out of any "this board v that board" stuff. I like the fact there aren't as many boring WUM/ troll types on here, it's just decent Sunderland fans having a bit crack. I also found it great during the takeover because I don't want to miss anything but the rtg thread was moving too fast. You'd be away a couple of hours and have 10 pages to read, only to find you've missed nowt! This one was much easier to keep up with. But smb does also have a lot of cracking posters, and sometimes the high activity over there is good if you want a few discussions when you're meant to be at work. Both good places, no need to choose or owt.
The beers better in the 606 arms, used to drink in the RTG hotel, but the beer they are serving is like pish wasser now, still pop in occasionally when I am wrecked, don't say much though as a lot of people I know got sick of the fairy liquid draught on offer and started drinking in the 606, loads in the hotel don't even go to the fcuking games.

Probably the best description of the SMB ive ever read. I used to get on there all the time - mainly as a lurker tbf but over the last few years i've found myself using it less and less. Some of the posts are class but there is a lot of drivel.

Just seen some of the comments this morning, following the press article, from some of the brainboxes over there man.
Beyond embarrassing!
And from some who have claimed throughout there was no takeover!
I regret having a look.....even more determined now to stay off there!
<laugh><laugh><laugh>

Some have gone from 'there is no takeover' to 'it's not a takeover it's just a few shares changing hands' to 'OK it's a takeover but Donald still has a big say'.

Not one of those thing are true yet the debate will rage unabated.

Any hopes for Louis-Dreyfus are met with, look what happened with Donald.

Fair play to the lads who rise above it all and carry on a sensible discussion ...

... they must have half the board on 'ignore'.

See what I mean absolute ****ing ****e

You don't know how the lockdown is affecting his mental health. But I would suggest gradually re introducing him to people when it's over, we don't want him over stimulated, a bit like when they find undiscovered tribes in the Amazon. He'll take time to redevelop social skills, other wise he might get alarmed and start throwing faeces at people.
It's either that or his crack dealing is making a fortune out of him.

I was regularly banned but accepted it as that's the kind of forum it is.

After one long ban, during the FPP takeover saga, I went back on to state a few home truths, especially to the useless Mods.

I knew that I'd get a life ban but the forum is screwed and, sadly, a shadow of what it once was.

There are some good lads on there, but they have a battle on.

Yesterday, after days of personal attacks and endless bickering on the Takeover thread, a Mod went on to delete dozens of posts and ask people to stop bickering ...

... the very next post, now deleted, was exactly the same <laugh>

However without the rows and digs there are hardly any posts ...

.... sad when we've been waiting for a takeover all this time.

ahem :emoticon-0130-devil:emoticon-0140-rofl:
