Had a look on there this morning and there's a new thread entitled 'Donald/Methven Legacy' ....

... with the text, "They need to never be seen or heard from again."

    <laugh>

Haway Ghandi man, let's just forget about them, you've now got people claiming that Donald is still in charge and the takeover is in trouble ...

... we really do need to move on now, this is a huge opportunity.

Before lockdown he was constantly called out for his negative drivel, now he’s getting likes for the same patter.

They’re getting the website they deserve.

The people who spend most time on there are the ones doing their best to drive people away ...

... what will they do when the place becomes unviable and closes down.

They won't be welcome on here.

A dozen including Rat-boy have already come on here to start their shyte, and were instantly banned. They've gone back to RTG whining that they were only banned for expressing their opinion. Their idiotic little pals, like Bumblebee, cheer them like returning heroes.

Sadly, they know exactly what they're doing and will continue to drive decent people away.

    It's pathetic.

Sadly all they'll do is set up a Facebook or other social media group if they can't high jack and takeover another message board. So the same drivel from the same suspects will still get put out there.

I was never a member, but I was a regular viewer of RTG for 20 odd years, pretty much from when it started and I personally knew quite a lot people who were members. I think there's only one person left now that posts on there that I know, but I've not been on it for ages so they might have packed in now as well.

It's been declining for years, I'd say really since the Di Canio sacking as a starting point, but the decline has accelerated in the last couple of years. But to a lot of outsiders, and still a huge chunk of our supporters, it's our main message board so people will think it genuinely reflects the majority of fan opinions. Until someone really takes the initiative and gets control of the board back, bans the WUMs and trolls, stops having favourites and cracks down on the ganging up on people with different views, it'll carry on the same way, but it'll be a long time before it actually dies.

I stopped going on that forum and a few SAFC twitter pages as well. If you don't slag everyone at the club off you end up getting abuse.

Mind I think all message boards will start slowing down before long. I must have been about 15 when I first joined the FTM executive club board. I've grown up with smb and been on most of the others that have come and gone (black cat chat, safc world, and I think some others). What I find now though is that the average age of poster seems to be getting older and older. My lasses bairn is 18. Neither him nor any of his mates use it. They're all on Instagram and twitter and the likes. That kind of social media either wasn't around, or certainly wasn't booming when I got into it. When people mention their age on threads there seem to be very few even in their twenties. Boards like SMB that eventually drive decent posters away might regret it because I don't think there's that many younguns coming through to replace them any more!

    Very good points mate.

What's surprising is that a lot on RTG post childish drivel and you assume they're aimless teenagers.

So it's shocking when they turn out to be middle aged, or older, with families and jobs.

I suppose some elderly people naturally become grumpy but it sometimes makes you wonder why they carry on.

What's evident is that new members are quite often obvious wums, closet non-Sunderland or supporters of other clubs.

They offer little, after a burst of initial posts, and don't last long but put off lurkers looking on or drive people away.

This board just ticks along and people don't feel like they have to clock in or 'keep up their image' so it's slower, and probably better for it.

Aye, I'd certainly love to know what % of "new" posters over the road are actually new posters! Within about a week you normally realise it's some knacker whose been banned about 10 times previously!
