Trump has massive form for not paying people he’s contracted. Hence the reason he’s one of the most litigious men in the US. Don’t pay, get sued, counter claim for some spurious and fake contractual failure, lose and appeal, win and cheat someone, or reach a settlement and massively reduce what you’d originally committed to pay.

Great businessman my arse, he’s always been a cheating fraud, who traded in lies and self aggrandisement.

 

It's also one of the reason that he's so hated in New York.
His mob connections also helped protect him from any backlash of a less legal nature.

 

The Mob won't save him from the NY Southern District DOJ (the one dramatised in Billions). Especially as they now have no Sessions or Barr to lean on them for him. He'll be utterly butt-****ed, even if he does run away. They'll seize his ****ing tower for a start, even if he does try to offload it onto Ivanka and Don jr. And everything is in place for warrants on the 23rd. Can't ****ing wait.

 

His NY tower is about the only asset he owns that shows a consistent profitable return. The scale of the man’s slippery and completely unscrupulous business dealings are off the scale. His tax returns show he’s not paid suppliers in excess of $250m in the last decade due to him tying them up in litigation.
