From the Mail: Newcastle, meanwhile, are without a win in five matches in the Premier League and have scored just one goal in their last eight hours of football. Bruce, though, rejects the notion of them being involved in a relegation fight with his side still eight points clear of the drop zone. ‘At the moment we have a nice healthy cushion to the bottom three,’ he said. ‘If we’d gone in the bottom three then I’d say maybe (we were in a relegation fight). We knew this would be a tough run of fixtures. We’re in that run where we have to get out of it. ‘But Sheffield United’s position proves how difficult the Premier League is. They took it by storm last year and were in the top six at Christmas. So although they prop up the table, they are a very good side still. We’ll have to be at our best to beat them.’ So even if we were in the bottom 3, Brucey would have trouble admitting we were in a relegation battle. Then talks up a "very good side" who have 2 points in January. He plumbs depths you didn't know existed. Incredible.
Shall we write Weds quotes now? "Look, we weren't at our best today, they're still a very good side and unfortunately we didn't take our chance when it came. We'll dust ourselves off, roll up our sleeves and hope we can put things right for <insert next opponent here>".
He's just getting the "no easy game in the PL line" in early, fear the worst tomorrow with that ****ing attitude!
If, as I suspect, there's no takeover I can easily see Bruce taking us to mid-table Championship obscurity. 1) He's that bad, and 2) Ashley's completely checked out.
FS we've been here before though, remember under Rafa playing Fulham in SJP,Fulham were in the same position as Sheff Utd are now, finished 0-0and that was with a crowd
I think Bruce's luck has well and truly run out. He's following McLaren's path, things are just aligned against him. Sheff U finally remember how to win a game literally a couple of days before we turn up. I mean, that the Blades are favourites to win the match is as big an indictment of Bruce's claims as anything else. Will Ashley even bother this time? I'm not so sure. I think he'd take a gamble on us clawing over the line in 17th rather than admit either wrongness or be bothered about fixing it. Certainly without a takeover, Bruce is going nowhere.
Just go now, please! For the love of god just **** right off now. Keep ****ing off until you can **** off no more....and then just keep trying to **** off for the rest of your sad little ****ing existence of a life! Don’t bother getting back on that team bus and keep ****ing Fraser, Hendricks, and a few more others down there with ya! Wilder will be out on his arse soon enough so you can swoop in there on a rescue mission just like big fat sam and never darken our doors again! ****ing sick!!
Yeah he's nolonger doing well... He's been able to hide behind the false position until now and while he had it you simply couldn't win the argument, not now it's easy to win... He's ****
It’s unconscionable but I guarantee the club will say and do nothing, with some mouthpiece from Sky insisting it’s “business as usual”.
I’ve calmed down a bit now and having given it further thought I think we have to say fair play to Brucie for sticking to his principles. He is definitely not a hypocrite. When he says that football should be stopped During the pandemic he does exactly that and sends us out doing just that. Give credit to Brucie a man of his word.
