Not what I saw. Don't get me wrong, I love Redmond in full swing, lovely player to watch and works hard for the team, just seemed tentative. Maybe you are right, a start may help. He does seem to have a good understanding with Berty.
There’s really only 3 positions open to variation here aren’t there RM Ralph rested Stuey and he’ll have more space to run into in this game LM Best defensive pairing is Bertie and Nathan Up front Do we play Theo and allow him to drop back to run at them or play him RM or LM and run at them from there? In which case Stu or Nathan won’t start and we start with Shane or N’Lundulu with Che. I’d try the latter Salisu probably has to wait until Bedders or Vesty get tired or injured I’d like to see Tella on the right again some time. He put in a couple of cracking crosses v Citeh Let’s face it Ralph’s no tinkerman these days
I think we'll go Theo and Armstrong 'wide' and Tella up top. I'd be happy for Redders to get a start here but don't see how he gets in ahead of the other two at the moment, particularly as Armstrong was seemingly rested on Saturday. I'm still not convinced by Djenepo tbh. Of course we could put Theo up top but I think he's been playing well where he is and wouldn't want to change that. Big game this, think we'll struggle against West Ham and with Liverpool after that we really need to grab 3 points here to keep momentum up.
Armstrong is the new Steven Davis. He has to play. I am shocked and surprised by Obafemi's descent down the ranks. Along with Valery, I thought that these two players had plenty of potential. He hasn't even made the sub's bench in the last few games. Whilst I can appreciate that KWP's performances have made it next to impossible to Yann Valery to return to the first eleven, you wonder whether his work ethic or effort in training. Ralph had previously mentioned in the Echo that Obafemi had a lack of consistency. I hope Obafemi ups his game as he is a player you would want in your side when he is playing well.
Always said, I would want to sleep with Dannii, but marry Kylie Back on topic, I'm sure Dannii & Kylie have lived in London at some stage and they were nearer to Fulham than me when they did. 0-10 on Boxing day.
I think Theo will play up top with Che, but I'd prefer him to stay out wide as he's looked better there. Any update on Ings?
Agreed with all of this Libs. I’m not quite sure why everyone is quite so down on Nathan right now. Granted he was awful when he came on against City, but he looked perfectly good enough when he came on against SU and scored a lovely goal. I’d have no issue starting him (particularly as Moussa is unconvincing right now too).
I didn’t think about money available or not and I’m not saying “proven PL quality” as that’s hard for us to get, but a pound to a penny says that Ralph has a little red n white striped note book full of quality, relative unknowns that can play the way he wants.
I’m not shocked by Obafemi, as I don’t think he offers much at all, beyond lightening pace. I’ve not thought him PL quality (or likely to be it), but he is at least young enough to prove me wrong* *again
I'd rather go with N'Lundulu up front TBH. I quite like what I've seen from the few minutes he's had.
I'm not sure we've really seen enough of either to make a proper judgement tbh. I just think Ralph will go Tella as he brought him on for Ings on Saturday.
I'm not expecting anything as radical as some on here seem to be expecting.... we've got Saturday - Tuesday - Monday for the next three games which is pretty generous, so expecting close to full strength each game McCarthy KWP Bednarek Vestegaard Bertrand Armstrong JWP Diallo Djenepo Walcott Adams Subs: Forster, Stephens, Salisu, Vokins, Smallbone, Redmond, Tella, N'Lundulu, Long
