That’s pretty much exactly what happened to me tbh. Did loads of **** in between, but forgot most of it due to having been pissed as a fart for 25 years.

    No regrets though mate.

Anyway will give my view on the French action. It is damaging and unneccesary without any regard for the consequences. This will be damaging to the French themselves along with the fresh produce from Spain and Italy, the latter two countries that can least afford it.

This new strain of the virus via media sources is supposed to have been known to us for at least a week, I would suggest it has been around for at least two months. That is evident in the number of cases in Kent and Medway, also in 62% of transmission rates within London, now with Scotland reporting cases. Hence the new strain of virus without doubt will already be in Europe.

For the French to take such action without warning is at the very least crass.

It's said a resoltution will be found within hours, so why the fook didn't the French wait, discuss with their other EU counterparts regarding appropriate steps to take before implementing this reckless action.

I've no problem with the travel ban, my problem is with them halting freight through the ports, especially when most truck drivers isolate via their cabs. Along with the lack of thought or regard for their welfare.

Boris is not to blame for this, our government is not to blame for this, it's just the French being a total bunch of ****ers.

    Merry Fooking Christmas.

Am I imagining it, or did I not read somewhere that the Dutch and Australians have also confirmed that they have identified the new strain?

I'm sure it's global already, it's just that Britain were the first to identify it.

I think I’ve read that there have been several strains which have been identified since the initial COVID outbreak. From the way it read, this is usual?
I guess the thing that sets this particular strain apart from the others is the rapid transmission rate. I believe this strain has been reported in Germany so I don’t think it’s unique to the UK.

I agree. I probably used 'unique' to avoid being interpreted as blaming others. My suspicion as you highlight, that this strain is already in other parts of Europe.

No idea mate...saw her in Amelie and A Very Long Engagement. She looks like Audrey Hepburn. Had a huge crush on her when I was a kid.

    Love the banter, mate <laugh>

My Dad's alright the big fanny. He's got an oxygen thingy in the house to help him because he struggles to catch his breath quite badly from time to time. I've got a feeling he's ****ed long term from this but hopefully not because he's a massive gambler like myself and we want to do the Grand National and everything together to make up for lost time.

Don’t agree with that mate. They didn’t block cargo, they blocked people i.e. the people driving the trucks from the U.K. to France. Goods could still move either via container or from France to the U.K on trucks. Only if you’re an EU driver you’re unlikely to want to cross if you can’t get back!

They’re now working with Boris and Co to sort out some COVID testing at port.

Watch there be conspiracy theories of Polish lorry drivers using the pandemic as an excuse to move to UK now.
